Here's how to set up the newest DX11 version of Pinball Arcade

These instructions should work with both the Steam version and the standalone version. The new DX11 version of TPA dramatically improves the lighting and graphics. Here's how to get it to work in Hyperspin with either HLHQ or RLUI.

Here's a comparison vid showing the difference:

1. To get the Steam version of DX11 to work with these modules you first need to rename the actual .exe. Go to Programs (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/PinballArcade and rename PinballArcade.exe to Pinball ArcadeDX9.exe (or whatever you want to back it up). Then rename PinballArcade11.exe to just PinballArcade.exe (you'll have to do this every time Farsight updates the game).

--->Note: The standalone, non-Steam version may or may not also need to be renamed. You'll have to experiment.

Here are the two modules, the newest RocketLauncher version and the newest HyperLaunchHQ version. The newest RLUI version uses the .isd file that Rocketlauncher auto-updates to. To keep it simple just use the module version that matches the launcher version you're using. The only difference between modules is the Table_Start module setting which is minor.

-Both modules have had the MRC, iCRC and mId lines removed from the module so that they will show as yellow (customized) in HLHQ/RLUI and RocketLauncher won't overwrite them when it updates (not a worry in HLHQ).

-Both are for The Pinball Arcade version 1.39.9 (latest version)

-Both have all 60 tables labeled and in the correct order (if you don't own all the tables then you must follow the module instructions on updating the My Tables module setting)

-Both have the "What's New" nag-screen disabled for both Steam and standalone versions as long as you are on version 1.39.9 or newer

RocketLauncherUI version:

HyperLaunchHQ version:

--->NOTE: Make sure your module and the associated .isd file and .ini file are named exactly the same (for example Mine are Pinball Arcade Custom.ahk, Pinball Arcade Custom.ini, Pinball Arcade Custom.isd)

Here is the 100% complete and matching database.

-Has all 60 tables

-Black Knight and Black Knight 2000 have been fixed (were out of order on some XML versions)

-This database XML is for either module version.

Database XML for both versions:

I'm sure djvj will update the official module for RocketLauncher with these fixes shortly, but for those using HLHQ and not updating it should all be solid for you now.

Hopefully it helps having this info in one spot.

Just back to the discussion - sounds disappointing after thinking it was sorted out.

Ah, that explains why it didn't work for you. They didn't add the parameter to fix the nag-screen glitch until version 1.39.9. You're 2 versions behind, but as soon as you update to the latest version it will work perfectly.

It is sorted out completely. These modules work perfectly now for both Steam & standalone, HLHQ & RLUI, DX9 & DX11.

If someone isn't running the latest version for some reason then the problem is on them.

Just tested it. Works.

Got one glitch I have to look into. DX11 seemed to start in a full screen window then a truly fullscreen. Had to alt-enter manually.

Some others on the TPA forum were having the same issue. It's a TPA thing though so not related to the module or Hyperspin. You might check there for a fix.

Also this Database is based on yours. I just re-ordered the Black Knight tables and added the new ones, but the rest is your work.

Do you want to upload it as the new BD?

I don't want to take credit for your work and you already have it ready to go.

EDIT: Forgot to say that when I launch it it starts windowed for maybe half a second then locks in full screen on it's own. However when I launch in Hyperspin that little flicker happens before it shows on the screen so you don't see it (I only see it when launching from the exe or direct from Steam.)

You have it set to fullscreen in the TPA DX11 config right?

I don't care about credits. When you upload something you can mention my name in one of the boxes btw.

Still have to look into it. Sometimes I delete the userdata folder, check forums, etc

Edit: Im seeing the same.

Update: Removed my user data settings. Seems to be good from RLUI.

Mine is like version 1.38 something and the code I gave metalzoic yesterday removes the nagscreen for me.

Really? Well that's cool.

Hopefully the next updates has windowed-full screen support. That should fix the DX11 fade and hopefully the other screen issues.
