krazzy Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Hey guys I've been searching for two classic arcade (hopefully MAME supported) games. The first game is a Bubble matching/popper game. No it's not bust-a-move or any of the bobble series. It isn't buster brothers either. (Kinda NSFW- the video features two clothed and busty chibi anime girls. Could be interpreted wrongly.) It looks more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed1GbK0PBoU The game is like bust-a-move, but instead you're able to move left to right at the bottom of the screen. You are also able to shoot bubbles straight up rather than having to bank bubbles off the wall or aim in various degrees. I believe it was a bubble matching/popping game so if you've got some clues- let me know. Hopefully the video above gives you the right idea. The second game is a cutesy platformer game that's all about nature. The two main characters are colored green and blue. I believe there is some shrinking mechanic you can use to enter smaller areas. I also believe you can glide with a leaf of something. My memory isn't too good with this game, but this is all I have to go on. Hopefully some of you guys know these games. I'd really appreciate some insight whatever it may be.
Dime333 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I could be way off. But is the second one blue's journey?
krazzy Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Nice one Dime! You nailed it. Kudos man. Now if we can only find the first one.
Agrajag Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 The first game is Angel Bobble, hence the name of the video! HyperSpin behaving oddly? krazzy Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Not quite what I'm looking for Agrajag. Angel Bobble is like the game I'm looking for, but not the same one. It's less- umm... well... provocative if you will. It's more like bust-a-move and isn't a flash game. It's an actual arcade game. I've seen the rom floating around before. It's just been a long time since I've seen it. Must have gotten lost in the shuffle. Still searching for clues, if any.
Retro Goonie Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 The first game sounds a lot like "Pang" or "Super Pang". My Artwork! Carts: GCE Vectrex 2D Carts (Realistic Version) 1.0, GCE Vectrex 2D Carts (Vector Version) 1.0 Pointers: NEC PC Engine Pointer(s), NEC SuperGrafx Pointer(s), Sega SG-1000 Pointer(s), Sega TecToy Pointer(s), Sega Mega Drive Japan Pointer(s), Nintendo 64 Pointer(s)
krazzy Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Close. Pang is pretty much buster brothers which is unfortunately not what I'm looking for. We're getting closer.
Agrajag Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 D'oh, I thought you were trying to identify the game in the video. That's what I get for speed reading the forum on my phone! Metalzoic Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Ah I think I know what it is. I think I have it on my Neo-Geo cab. I'll go fire it up and see.
Metalzoic Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Close. Pang is pretty much buster brothers which is unfortunately not what I'm looking for. We're getting closer. I was right. I do have it on my actual Neo-Geo machine. It's called Magical Drop & Magical Drop II. I've never actually played it, but knew I'd seen it before. That will be $100 dollars please. EDIT: It's been like, a whole 2 minutes since I answered your question... where's my $100? EDIT 2: Still nothing? Maybe I should delete the answer so you must go through life, tormented by never having figured out what game it is.
krazzy Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Haha, I knew someone would come through. The money is waiting for you at the docks. Thanks boss.
