Bonoscot Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Guys im trying to setup a few systems that require daemon tools but when i watch the tutorials on youtube The windows 10 version of DT doesnt allow certain options, isnt allowing me to create a drives for instance...Is there a workaround? Or should i just go back to windows 7? I only installed win 10 last week and everything so far is smooth apart from the RL rom selection tab, which causes crashes most times but i can put up with that for a while as im installing all my systems im paranoid that win 10 doesnt support everything i need for HS...im building a dedicated Arcade System with most PC games as well edit: im in work atm im pretty sure it was the saturn emulator though that i needed to select an SC drive (think that was it) thanks
gigapig Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 You don't really do much with it as it's all automatic. You may need to point to DTagent.exe instead, depending on the version and for Saturn just make sure you have the correct drive number. If you need to add the drive letter in RLUI then load up a cue or iso file in DT and it should show the letter at the bottom.
brudibru Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Hello Gig, It doesn't work for me. I also have Win 10 and DT lite 10 (plus the option to mount a drive) and it just doesn't mount anything (I can only go to the bios and then it says no CD for the Sega CD system for example). Everything was working before with Win8.1 and the old DT lite (I know I shouldn't have switched so quickly...). I have red the threads over at the RL forums but no luck so far.
gigapig Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Perhaps post your , that may show something.
brudibru Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I am actually doing a lot of tests just to be sure I don't do something wrong. If I continue to fail I will post a log or explain further. Thx Gig!
brudibru Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 In the end when I try to mount a scsi drive in my windows 10,in or out of RL, it freezes my computer altogether and I have to manually restart it. I have tried the latest DT 10 as well as the old version available at the RL site and still no luck. So be it and I have now shifted to Retroarch for Saturn (I know the compatibility's not great with the Yabause core but it's better than nothing), Sega CD and 3DO and MAME for the Neo Geo CD and everything's working OK (after some serious workarounds though). Can be a temporary solution for whoever has the same problem as me.
ninja2bceen Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 So is it wise to not update to windows 10? What programs or emulators don't work on windows 10? Bliss box works too? brudibru Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Bliss Box works the same. My only problem with Win10 is also with Daemon tools despite the fact I have bought the relevant module and followed the advices of different users here and at the RL forums. And also many Taito TypeX games are not working but that was the same for me under Win8.1 so I am not sure it is OS related (they all work fine under another computer running Win7 though).

I'm using DT Lite version 5.0.1.0406 with no issues, it seems to work with SSF and 4DO, use SCSI is set to false.
brudibru Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Giga, my problem is effectively when I have to mount a SCSI drive. You said you set it to false but I thought it was absolutely mandatory to mount a SCSI drive (at least for SSF) !?!?
brudibru Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Just checked SSF with SCSI as false and it doesn't work for me...
gigapig Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Just checked SSF with SCSI as false and it doesn't work for me... OK, strange. Mine is set to false with drive letter as "L" and CDDrive set as "2" in the Module. If I set SCSI to true, DT does not start.
brudibru Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I have set the CDDrive as 2 and now it works!! Thanks a lot Giga you are officially an Hyperspin semi-god !!!
