Yeah that works, but I wasn't sure if it was a smart idea to do.

I was hoping maybe there was another way to fix it. Thanks!

I turn it off because I usually know what's installed and what's going to run. You cannot create an exception because that would undo what UAC is trying to protect, you can however create an elevated short cut if you want UAC switched on.

samsho just needs the gameres.dat editing as that is all APCL is doing and why I never needed to include with the TTX files.

My gameres,dat looks like this. 1920 1080 1

If it's not working your res may not be supported or extract the game again and start a fresh.

My SShowdown files dont have a gameres.dat or a settings.arc ..... This is the main reason I used arcadePClauncher. I was thinking maybe SShowdown used a different type of file for settings, or a file I couldnt find LOL.

Guess I need to try and find a different set of game files, the res and aspect on this one is bad

And double clicking it from the Arcade PC Loader program doesn't launch it?

Nope, it gives a error window in Chinese. It runs fine if I click on the bat file but res is horrible. I have the original files from austin with a gameres.dat, and a copy of the same files I used to try it in ArcPClauncher which doesnt have the gameres.dat file after I launched it in arcPClauncher.

In the original files I had changed gameres.dat to 1920 1080 1  -but it still runs with low res.

In the files for arcadepclauncher.... there is no gameres.dat now and it will not launch from arcpclauncher. Ive set controls,language....and tried every possible res from within arcpcLaunch, I always get the chinese text error

This whole frickin time it was just because I had multiple displays running. As a last resort effort I disabled my other 2 extended screens and the game loaded in arcadepcloader with no issues and is in 1080 res.

This has probably been the reason I had to wrestle setting each game up. I hope when they are on my cab they will run right and that setting them up to run on this multiple display rig didnt affect settings.

But yeah.... Sam Showdown is running fine but second player key mapping isnt taking. Any ideas on this?

I've found it's always the simple things that cause the most issues.

Remap it in RocketLauncher>Keymapper tab>AutoHotKey like I mentioned earlier. Super simple.

Choose Taito Type X as your system on the left. Then create a new game profile for SShodown.

In the box below check the edit box.

To remap you type the key your button is, followed by double colons, followed by the key you want it to be.

Then press enter and do another on the next line down.

For example say you have 4 buttons that are left shift, up arrow, G & 7. You want them to be X, Y, Z & F2.

You would simply put:

Lshift::x

Up::Y

g::z

7::F2

Click save and that should be it. Click the lightning bolt icon above and RLUI will pop up a box to test it in.

Useful in a ton of games, especially PC games that normally don't let you rebind controls. A must for any Hspinner to be familiar with.

Have you tried Launching the games first through Arcade PC launcher to set your settings.

Then, in the module settings, Setting "Title_Launcher.exe" as your Application ID and the AppWaitExe as "Game.exe"?

(For example for Trouble Witches it would be TW_Launcher.exe as the application and Game.exe as the AppWaitExe)

That's how I have almost every one of mine setup and they all work. I just set them all up last Sunday.

Hey, thanks for this because you just saved me some trouble making a thread about the same issue. I originally had Type X setup working perfectly but I had the games on my main wheel and I recently got Daphne setup and finally moved my American Laser games from the main wheel into their own wheel so I figured it's time to just clean up my main wheel by adding the Taito Type X and X2 games to their own wheel.

Type X2 went ok.. and everything worked but with the Type X games they would launch but after a while.. just before I could actually play the games they would get a error about waiting for something. Thanks to your post about adding the Game.exe as the appWaitExe... it really helped me.

I tried watching some of the Youtube tutorials and while many are helpful.. the one I find on Type X games was just horrible.. the guy was all over the place and it was hard to even follow what the heck he was doing. It's Amazing that some of those tutorials are so complex and detailed (and a waste of time) but the simplest posts normally get right to the point.

Just ran into another problem.. the games launch fine but when I exit the games they don't return to Hyperspin they just exit to desktop and Hyperspin seems to be running but I can't switch back to it. most likely a setting I need to fix.

ahh, think I figured it out.. set the end app wait.

Never had that issue myself, but someone just made a post about this a couple days ago on the RLauncher forums in the module section. Might help you out.

Finally had time to try this out. I was leery to mess with autohotkey but it was much easier than editing the games exe file, lmao.

Anyway, I got the game running in 1080 with original controls, went to RL and set a new autohotkey rom profile for SShowdown.

How do I point RL to use this profile when running the game? If I launch it in RL it still is using the default keys.

Thanks again!

Anyone know if once an AHK profile has been made....if it launches with the game its set for, or if it has to be enabled somehow as a prelaunch program or something?

Depends what the script does. For example House of the Dead 3 requires a registry hack each time it's run so that goes in the PClauncher Prelaunch section. Mario Bros X needs a post launch to press a certain key.

You just point to it in the "Edit System Specific Module settngs".

So when I made the samurai showdown ahk profile... where would it of saved it at?

And so I should just try pointing to it under prelaunch?

Thanks

What? No. You're over complicating it. Giga is talking about non keymapping AHK scripts.

You simply make the AutoHotKey profile under the Keymapper section like I said. Any game profile you make in the Key mapper tab automatically runs when you launch the game.

So you just go to your Taito X system on the left. Then go to the Keymapper tab, select the AutoHotKey section, make a new game profile select SShodown from the list. type in your keymaps, click save and that's it. It's done forever.

I don't know man. It should work.

Here's something even more weird. I went to capture a screenshot of mine and SShodown doesn't even show up under my Keymapper. It's only showing Wacky Races and Half-Life.

However it all works perfectly (P1 & P2) just like when I set it up originally. Really, really weird. Not sure why it isn't on the list. Started, re-started and restarted the PC and it still doesn't show but the game works.

Bizarre.

Horizontal Slash - Z
Verticle Slash - X
Start - F1
Coin - F2

Player 2.

Up - Num 8
Down - Num 2
Left - Num 4
Right - Num 6
Kick - G
Special - H
Horizontal Slash - B
Verticle Slash - N
Start - F5
Coin - F6

yes, im not using a controller... a keyboard is all im using to check it with and dont have this hdd in my cab yet.

If I edit keys in arcade pc launcher- my new player 1 keys work fine but player 2 maps are lost- not even default keys work.

Same thing if I edit the exe file,my new player 1 keys work fine but player 2 maps are lost- not even default keys work

With fresh install of the game and nothing messed with, I go into RL and set new keymaps but when loading the game from RL its the default keys that work and not the remapped ones.

So the default keys are working for player 2 when using the keyboard?

So

Up - Num 8
Down - Num 2
Left - Num 4
Right - Num 6
Kick - G
Special - H
Horizontal Slash - B
Verticle Slash - N
Start - F5
Coin - F6

That's because it looks like you mixed up my example and accidentally mapped all your buttons backwards, so you basically mapped them to not work.

For example:

X is vertical slash.

You want that to happen when you press 6 instead, so you would put 6::x and now pressing 6 sends the x keystroke.

What you did instead is put x::6 so pressing x sends the 6 keystroke instead and pressing 6 doesn't work because it just sends the 6 keystroke.

Un-reverse them all and you should be good.
