kylecp1979 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Here are some screen shots of what I have done to try and get it to work don't know what I'm doing wrong
kylecp1979 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Yes they all work fine outside rocketluncher it's suppose to switch to a different controller profile but I can't get it to work.
Tribe Fan Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Before investing in a dolphinbar - which I HIGHLY recommend for Wii games - I used xpadder to handle all my controller profiles in dolphin.
kylecp1979 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 How do you set xpadder to switch to different profiles?
kylecp1979 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Why is that? As long as I can get the profiles to switch I should have no problem using a 360 pad for wii. That was the main turn off for me with the wii the controls. Does no one have the custom controller profiles setup on there hyperspin?
Spawk Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Someone jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think wiimotes have motion sensors and 360pads don't so that's why. It may work for some games that don't use it but... I'd listen to Jeremy. Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
kylecp1979 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Yeah but you can configure the controller to do motions with a press of a button most games you just have to shake a wii remote. you can set a button to do that. I know there are some games I would need a wii remote. But I mainly just want to play fighting games, some first person shooter, mario and donkey kong games.
Spawk Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Cool, sounds good to me. I have yet to setup wii but I may look into this more later. You'll definitely want either xpadder or joytokey. Either one will let you create per game profiles. Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
kylecp1979 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 I didn't know you could do that I'am guessing you set it up through rocketlauncher??? or xpadder???
Spawk Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Yes let RL do all the switching! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
kylecp1979 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Ok thank you for all your help it suck I have to use xpadder but at least I'll get it working.
Tribe Fan Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Yeah, xpadder with dolphin is great for many wii games, but pretty miserable for others. Games like Mario Kart and DKC Returns were actually improved in some respects - I was never a big fan of a lot of the wiimote's motion gimmicks. Games that require the pointer are pretty much broken without a real wiimote though. You probably wouldn't have much trouble with fighting games, but Super Mario Galaxy is virtually unplayable. Seriously, get a dolphinbar! You won't regret it. I use it along with a classic controller as my primary controller for all other systems as well. There's a great little program called touchmote that i recommend using alongside it as well. Good luck! Hope you find something that works.
kylecp1979 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Ok thanks I might look into that. Thank you. Are there any down falls for having one?
rastan Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I hate playing Wii games on the Wii it'self... the only games I can stand to play are the ones that use the Wiimote in that classic style.. the WiiMote+NunChuck combo has never been my kind of gaming. the WiiMote for Tennis games is cool...and maybe anything sports related that requires motion.. or board games/party games but other than that......I don't care for the Wii.
Tribe Fan Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 There's really none that I can speak of. You plug in the dolphinbar and it just works. There are four modes: mouse mode (you can control the mouse cursor with a wiimote), mouse and game mode (I never use this one), gamepad mode (this is the one you'd use for classic controller support), and dolphin mode (this is what you use to play wii games). If you use Touchmote (which is 3rd party software), you don't even have to mess with modes - you just keep it in dolphin mode. It installs xbox drivers for the classic controller, so Windows thinks it's an xbox 360 controller. This comes in very handy for emulators like retroarch which automatically configures systems to work with a 360 pad. If you've ever tried to configure a wiimote with bluetooth on Windows, you know how unreliable it is. The dolphinbar completely eliminates all those issues. You simply wake up the wiimote and it automatically connects and stays connected to the windows computer (I've never once had it disconnect for any reason). You set up the controllers in dolphin to use a "real wiimote." As soon as you start dolphin, the wiimote vibrates and connects almost instantaneously. It operates in dolphin identically to the way a wiimote would on a real wii. EDIT: One downside that did just come to mind is mouse mode. The cursor is very jittery when controlling it with a wiimote. Touchmote does fix the jitter a little bit, but it's bad enough that I wouldn't consider the dolphinbar's mouse mode a solution for games that depend on mouse input (e.g., light gun games). In dolphin, though, there is no jitter at all whatsoever. It is quite literally an identical experience to using a wiimote with a real wii.
kylecp1979 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Is this the right dolphin bar I think I'm going to order one http://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-W010-Wireless-Sensor-DolphinBar/dp/B00HZWEB74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453046456&sr=8-1&keywords=dolphin+bar
kylecp1979 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 I figure out why the control profiles would not switch over when the module copys over the profile it doesn't add everything in the .ini file needs to work. I have uploaded some pics of what it is missing. also when you create a new profile copy it over to Wiimote (RL) and delete it out of the Wiimote or rename it or you'll have trouble getting it to work.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Depending on how you set your Dolphin and the games up, you can make profiles in the actual emulator, or yes you can use xpadder. Many of the games can easily be configured to play with instinctive controls that seem more than logical on 360 /PS3 pads. Dolphin bar is a awesome but of kit and if you wan the full Wii experience or the Lightgun, Mouse pointer option its well worth the price tag. You aint going to get Wii Sports etc running with instinctive controls as these was made for WiiMotes. But the AAA titles and platformers such as Mario Galaxy etc, no problem at all once you know how Simply Austin's YouTube

But yeah, lots of games work quite well (or are even improved by circumventing some of the motion gimmicks). I found it to be a little bit of a hassle, though, creating so many xpadder profiles.I probably shouldn't haven't commented on using dolphin bar as a light gun - I've never tried it before. If it does in fact work well, that's yet another good reason to get one. That is the correct dolphin bar by the way kylecp1979.
kylecp1979 Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Thank you I just ordered one but I have been messing around with the dolphin profiles most of the games that use the controller horizontal works great. Some of the pointer ones work ok if you set the ir sensor to the right analog stick but most just go all over the place. Thanks to everyone for there help in getting this to work for me!!!
