rocktofakie Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Hi! I'm looking for Informations for this topic. Suggestions that I found are: using dropbox and symlink to the highscores from both cabinets. Using a SQL-Database (on my NAS-Server) Is anyone sharing highscores with a friend and how do you do it? Is there a Tutorial or a third-party-program? Maybe I'm looking for the wrong terms, but what I found is not much. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
gigapig Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Mame hiscores? It's been discussed but it would be difficult if not impossible to merge scores and have them show in game. Copying across and overwriting is possible I'm sure. Check out the last post from Greatstone here.http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/173-hitotext-hi-score-support/page-18#
rocktofakie Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Thanks for the quick response. I will check that later in Detail. My First Impression is that this is more then what I have in mind. But I'm Not into programming and so I have to talk to a friend of mine what is possible and what makes sense. If I/we use this Solution or have another one, I will Post my experience here to let all you people know. thanks. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
Metalzoic Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Does MAME even save the hiscores of more than a small handful of games? I know you can turn Hi-Score on in MAMEUIFX, but it seems like there are barely any roms that support it.
gigapig Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Correct, not every game saves the hi score. Post-it notes work.
Metalzoic Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Just text each other screenshots of the scoreboard.
rastan Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I don't know how to do it but just shooting an idea in my head... if two machines were running the same program via a network.. they would share the same data.

True, but latency becomes an issue. There's also write contention. rastan Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 it seems like a bigger problem than it's worth..... get a chalkboard and text/email each other the hi score for a game and update the chalkboard lol
rocktofakie Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 Thanks for your replies, I think I will live without that feature Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
