thomas3120 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Hello, I hate asking for things :/ It's been a while since I compiled MAME and been trying it for the past few hours with no luck. I have MAMEUI .159 32 bit but would like to know if anyone may have MAMEUI .159 64-bit with no nag screens. I hope this is appropriate to ask here. In the download sections there are more up to date versions but not .159 64-bit with no nag. Any help appreciated, or some direction on some decent instructions (using the new(er) msys64 instead of mingw. thomas
JoyStickKilla Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Why not just use the newest version? I highly doubt you will run into an issue running any of the roms.
Dubbloseven Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I still have it. pm me if your stuck or it's your best option for now. I also suggest upgrading to 170, some of the upgrades seem minor but there has been a few since 159. I recently played a few driving games with a control pad and seemed to work a lot better than some of the older versions. as well as a few games added. There have been a lot of improvements made since 0.159. Yeah I know...just that's it's been ages since I did a mame compile and even compiling mame seems to be different now. Thanks for the replies. Found the file BTW, what are some of the changes? I read that .160 supports this graphic mode: GSL(?) instead of HSL(?)...sorry if misspelled. What are the advantages of this graphics mode?... t

What are the advantages of this graphics mode?... t Added the ability for GLSL. Then really improved it again in 162. Improved both GLSL and HLSL more in 167 & 171 is due out next week. GLSL & HLSL are both added effects to give the games a more authentic CRT look on LCD/LED monitors. They mimic a more accurate look of having actual pixels and scanlines on the screen.
thomas3120 Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 A few more things, For the moment running MAMEUI64 .159. Should I enable HLSL? Also running a Quad core Intel. Should the multithreaded rendering option be enabled? And triple buffering...enable? Thanks again, thomas
Ar1cle Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Hello. Looking to get mameuifx 0.161 but cant find it anywhere? Could I use the latest version with older roms?
volumetric Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 HLSL - Turn it on and see if you like it. Really a personal preference thing. Can't think of any reason not to enable multicore. Seems to improve my performance. Triple buffering will eliminate screen tearing, but will cause a slight delay with joystick input. Again, its a personal preference thing. Personally I leave it off.
