Turbografx-16 and PC Engine

So, my understanding is that PC Engine is the original Japanese name for the Turbografx-16 - same hardware, different box

I see Hyperlists for both however... what's the difference? The TG16 list is way shorter, with far fewer games than the PCE one...

Just debating which I should put on my wheel (or both) or if i should combine them or not...

You need both. The TG16 has all the north american games and the PC Engine has all the Japanese exclusives. The PC engine was released in japan 2 years before the TG16 made it to north america and a lot of games that were never released on the TG16.

Get both systems.

Hey, I have both system on my hyperspin, TG16 and NEC-PC engine, one for the Americans and the other for Japanese respectively, and what I found is that the xml lists are different for each version.

I even have the TurboGraph-CD and the NEC-PC Eng CD, and the lists are different as well. They are such a cool systems.

Ah man, I hadn't even thought about the pcengcd... What's on there that I shouldn't be missing?

I'm really tempted to combine the wheels... Tell me why I shouldn't ;)??

My advise is not to combine the wheels (however it is up to you), because Pc Eng CD is japanese and turbograf CD is american. The libraries are somehow different, so as well the media and the xml lists.

Another thing to take in consideration, is the library for the PCENG CD, which is larger than the american one, so it would be annoying to look for an american games in the middle of a one huge whole list.

Well, that's my opinion, but it is your hyperspin and it is up to you how you want it to look ;)
