SUBZERO Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 So it's been a year since the site move and now that we have tested it we are going to polish it up. Changes that are coming: Theme and Widescreen section are going to be merged we will get one theme section with 3 subforums (game themes, system themes, universal themes) only thing that will change for you guys is the announcement we will now add 16:9 or 4:3 to the announcement thread of a theme. Artwork and Sounds section will have the Announcement subforum removed so you will go into the list of sections right away. (i am thinking of doing this to the theme section aswell) some more little changes but i need to look through the HyperMedia section. Thinking about removing the request section from all sub forums too. do i make it a stand alone section? or do we just remove it? do we even have time for request nowerdays?
Spawk Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Where do system default themes go? Many people confuse these with main menu themes. They install them as system default and wonder why their artwork isn't showing up. Personally I prefer to not use any game themes (apart from Daphne ATM). Just wondering if they need their own category, or??? They don't seem to fit any of those categories. Technically they go in the games section I guess... if you're taking about where to install. But it'd be much nicer to have a definitive place to look.
SUBZERO Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 They go in the System section, and they will need to be announced correctly, like : - Non-game themes: description - System - type (screen standard) examples: Metallic - MAME - Main Menu (4:3) HTPC - MAME - Main Menu (16:9) X-Arcade - MAME - System Default (4:3) Unified - MAME - System Default (16:9)- Game themes: Game name - Rom name (System) (screen standard) examples: Two Crude - twocrude (MAME) (4:3) R.C. Pro-Am - (NES) (16:9) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - (PC Games) (16:9) Trouble Witches AC - (Taito Type X) (4:3)
