This is something for my fellow Mega Drive fans who were not familiar and don't feel any nostalgia about the Genesis brand. I have completed a 1.2 final set of box art within semi-realistic case art, all based on Mega Drive covers when possible. The case art isn't mine. Macarr0 last year was kind enough to provide me the Photoshop template so I could do my own work. It took me some time to complete this, as a lot of googling was involved. I originally made them just for me but... why not share the happiness? Other sources include some of macarr0's own scans, the original sets (for some Genesis-only rarities), segaretro and stuff from lost UG torrents. If I have made any mistakes (for example a Mega Drive cover exists and I still used a Genesis), feel free to inform me so I'll fix it. What I don't intend to do is to create a Genesis-based set. I'm really tired of this, since I did everything manually (I couldn't find a way to automate it). The set (and much more to come in my folder, such as HS stuff for fellow Greek retro gamers) is available on /Upload Here/matchaman/MD-PALbased(cases) Any games that had different titles in their PAL release keep the Genesis file naming. This is to make things hassle-free. You can then edit you xml or filenames as you wish. Just to make one thing clear, this isn't a Japanese or Asian Mega Drive set. I'll do that sometime in the future though it's kind of bland without videos. Have fun! matchaman Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 There's a texture layer applied to simulate the "lumpy" matte effect of the case film. This causes dark areas to have a grainy effect but it's unrelated to contrast or brightness levels. HyperSpin is the OCD curse we all love to love
THK Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I don't mind the 'lumpy' effect, the boxes just seem to look a bit washed out, hence turning up the black level. Also, maybe turn down the shine/reflection a bit, it almost looks like there's glass on top of the box. Don't get me wrong, I still thing you've done a great job ..........................back with a vengeance........................

Love Mega Drive, HATE Genesis in all it's redness I am actually working on a Mega Drive system and default theme and have gotten pretty close to how I want it. Once complete I will upload, should not be more than a week or so to get it done. I am no photoshop guru, but I used GIMP on a decent EU Mega Drive V1, have found a good main logo and am currently using the animated Sonic who runs across the screen. If anyone wants to put forward any artwork for the system theme, that would be quite useful? Something to go on the left side if possible.
