StarControl Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 It looks like a great set! It's just missing one of my favorites: Faery Tale Adventure If you added that it would be perfect.
Propaganda Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 That's a great list! No "Awesome" in there? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
espontaneo Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Ok then i'll put that glorified tech demo in there as well
Darkmindz Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Execlent set i really cant wait to see it, but i seems to be missing monkey island 1 and 2 He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way!
espontaneo Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Monkey Island 1 is there....."SecretOfMonkeyIsland_v3.4_1625.png" Not an amiga original y'know.. I'll do monkey 2 as well...
Beaps Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Man thats gotta be a killer list buddy - are you going to release a WHD theme? That would be nice RELAX and just have fun!! Remember, it's all about the games.
espontaneo Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Well it takes about 2 minutes to convert the main theme into the default theme for the amiga...
The Loafer Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Very impressive, here's a few more recommendations. Not that these might be beneficial to others rather than myself as I limit the non-arcade emulators to games that are playable on a cab. Secret of Monkey Island is a FANTASTIC game, but certainly not "cab'able". Still, I know others will use HS on their home PC so here's some additional games you HAVE to try out. - Rocket Ranger - King of Chicago - Banshee AGA (great shooter!) - Pinball Fantasies (AGA if possible) - Ruff and Tumble AGA - Slamtilt - Another World/Out of this world (though the 3DO version is better) - Battle Squadron (awesome shooter!) - Worms the Directors Cut (supposed to have added stuff, never tried it) - Jimmy White Whirlwind Snooker - Barbarian (Psygnosis) - Stardust (awesome shooter, I think there's an AGA version out?) - Super Stardust (that's the AGA version I think) - Dungeon Master - Apydia (great shooter) That's enough! Also, not sure if this is a WHDload'able game, but Defender of the Crown 2 was fantastic for fans of the original (was a CD32, don't know if an AGA version came out but the CD version had awesome sound and cool animations added). -------------- (this space available for rent)
espontaneo Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Winuaeloader has mouse emulation, so many games are "cabable" that otherwise wouldn't be. Mapping a few keys would make alot of games playable, including Monkey Island, especially the function and number keys. Though yes, some games will be awkward. Defender of the crown 2 is CD32 As for the games pick a couple of you want a set anytime soon
The Loafer Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 certainly from a perspective all games could be "cab'able" but would you stand up for hours and play Monkey Island?!? I'd play that through emulation, but from the comfort of my computer chair Yeah, I have DotC2 for my CD32, was wondering if either they did a 1200 version or if someone "converted" it to play from a standard AGA amiga, which I thought might make it more WHDLoad compatible (whatever the hell WHDLoad is, been a while since I messed around with emulation . Ok, if I have to pick some "I" would use, easy as pie: - Banshee AGA (great shooter!) - Pinball Fantasies (AGA if possible) - Slamtilt AGA - Super Stardust AGA -------------- (this space available for rent)
espontaneo Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 never heard of bar stools? and i'm also working on the cd32...
The Loafer Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Dude, it's an adventure game, it might work in a cab but it's not MEANT to be run from a cab! Dang it ya gone and got me upset now! Yay for CD32 support, there's a couple of gems in there. Thanks! -------------- (this space available for rent)
Darkmindz Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 The Loafer not every one uses hyperspin for a cab you know mate, im hooking mine up to a 52 inch lcd with wireless pads and mouse, for me i think the amiga is great in hyperspin espontaneo is doing a great job. He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way!
espontaneo Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 That rules out many many games on most systems. No amiga games (except for a few obscure arcade machines and prototypes) were "designed" for a cab, so that's a pretty incongruous statement! My cab is a "museum of games", by your logic I'd have the snes on there but no chrono trigger! Which would be like having the entire Scorcese collection without Goodfellas! I have seating and the keyboard and mouse pull out on a sliding shelf so it's quite comfy for playing.
The Loafer Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I think you're misunderstanding me: I said: "Not that these might be beneficial to others rather than myself as I limit the non-arcade emulators to games that are playable on a cab." I then proceeded to provide an example of great games. Some of the games go contrary to my personal recommendations of what consists a good cab game (see Dungeon Master as n example) because as I stated, I know many will use this on their PC. IE: I know not everyone thinks like me so yep, all games are good fit. I think there's a misunderstanding of the word design, or rather an improper use of it on my part. Sorry about that. I mean it in a way that you could take that Amiga game, put it in an arcade and people would have said "great game" and not "WTF is that doing here? I don't have 2 hours available to play this?" Anyway, in no way am I suggesting everyone change their thinking to fit mine. Carry on as you wish, I was just providing commentary. Darkmindz: What the heck? What did I type that indicated he's not doing a good job or that the Amiga should not be in HyperSpin? This is all awesome stuff! -------------- (this space available for rent)
Beaps Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Cleaned up the list a bit today if anyone want it. Just noticed one of my BEST games is missing HeadOverHeels_v1.0_1674 Any chance you can create a Wheel image & FLV for me pleeeeeese RELAX and just have fun!! Remember, it's all about the games.
Beaps Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Uploaded it to Hyperion under Zinc (sorry no Amiga section) RELAX and just have fun!! Remember, it's all about the games.
espontaneo Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 Head over heels is hardly a priority for the amiga, given it's an 8 bit game (it came out four years later than the speccy/amstrad version according to HOL). Though I'll have a look... There are loads of games that are not done yet, It's taken me weeks and weeks of obsessive girlfriend upsetting behaviour to get this far, so don't hold your breath. Also you will all notice speedball 2 doesn't work, you have to pm me about it... Please, can you forget the xml for now, the full one will have the year, developer, genre information and will be done when it is done.
Beaps Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 OK sure... I absolutly love HoH so when u have have time that is cool RELAX and just have fun!! Remember, it's all about the games.
espontaneo Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 Hoh logo is not an easy one, I will basically have to paint in half the thing because of the critters over it. But i'm doing it...done
espontaneo Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Ok i've upped the wheel, box and video, you lucky personage.....at this rate I'll be finished the set in ooh about 3 years....That was a hard one and it is still a bit sucky.... All that for a Spectrum game... Anyway, I'm going to work more on the cd32 for a bit because, well it is cab friendly and the number of games is limited, so I can actually finish it sometime this decade... I've pretty much got a complete set of box art to be getting on with as well. I'm not sure about naming conventions though....what are people using mine are all like: Akira (1994)(ICE)[!]
Beaps Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 THANKS!!!!! RELAX and just have fun!! Remember, it's all about the games.
