dreamkey56
Hi. Seems, like my ASROCK mainboard isn't working in combination with the PinDMD2 Seems, like I had to change. Can anybody tell me, what kind of mainboard you use in combination with PinDMD2, without any problem? So I can go for this type? Asus? Gigabyte? MSI? Which type? Please help me! Thank you! xagesz
I know that when i plugged my PINDMD2 into a USB3 header i had issues. Swap around the usb into a couple different ones. This solved my issues.
dreamkey56
Hello. You mean, the connector on the mainboard, where the USB front cable is connected to, yes? The USB 3.0 on the back is sitting directly on the mainboard. For the USB 2.0 on the front I have two possible connectors on the mainboard, So I tried the other connector, but still the same problem. But thank you for the good try! Changing the USB connector cable to the mainboard makes no sense, I think?

mikekim
Best bet would be to pickup a cheap usb pci card and run the pin dmd from that.. less expensive than a new motherboard Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
dreamkey56
Hello Mikekim, yes, I already tried one, but also didn't work. Same symptom. Russel told be now a card, that works at another PC for sure. So I ordered such a card online. But will take a while, until I will receive. Hopefully this works. Otherwise, I have to take out my ASRock board, and use another board, I am afraid.. Mikekim - do youse such a card? Which one? I have also another problem here: I only can use a USB card with PCIe-x1 connector. The small one.
dreamkey56
Hello ordusoft, the ASROCK mainboard is a ASROCK H81M-DGS. Any experience with it?
OzStick
Do you have another PC you can try it on? That might help you to work out if the problem is the ASRock motherboard or something else......
russdx
We tried another pc and the pinDMD worked fine. It is a problem with the motherboard usb chipset for some reason it just outright refuses to talk to the pinDMD hardware will not even get a pid/vid off the pinDMD and this is the first thing a piece of usb hardware will do. Another pinDMD user told me about a PCI express card they are using with the pinDMD so I think this will solve the problem

dreamkey56
Hey guys, just for Information: Was not possible, to get the mainboard working. After I bought a PCI-USB Card, that also didnt get the PinDMD working with my mainboard, Russel helped me. Thanks a lot, Russel, for patience, and all the hints you gave me! Russel told me a PCI USB Card, that works for sure. So I bought this Card: Rocketfish PCI USB 3.0 Card. Connected, installed driver, connected PinDMD2, works perfectly! I loooooove the PinDMD2 and the Led DMD soooo much
