Great program... thank you!

Quick question: what does it mean when a "yes" is highlighted in light green?

@BlackPredator72

This is the result of my try to make this button more smart (i.e. disabled, in case if all medias of selected types are already found). Will be fixed in next revision.

@griffin518

It means that in your HyperHQ settings, you have selected "Clones use parent vids" or "Clones use parent themes", and light green highlighted game means that it is recognized as clone, and its parent have video / theme.

Interesting... thanks! FYI - I have some wheels marked as "missing" when they're parent wheel images. So nothing actually missing in the system, but maybe you'd want to put the same parent/clone logic in place for the wheel images?

It's not a good idea, because HyperSpin can actually use parent's videos and themes, but it can not show parents wheel. There is no sense to mark these wheels as found, as you'll never see them in HS.

That's odd... since I do have wheels showing for them. I'll take a look tonight. Thanks!

I tried the suggestions in this thread, but I still can't get this to work. What should I look at? These are the errors I'm getting:

HL system settings file 'please, select system\Settings\Nintendo Entertainment System\Emulators.ini' not found. Rom path from HS.ini will be used.

Can't retrieve rom path.

I can't tell what this is trying to say. I have the rom path set and it's green in the Systems Manager. I don't have them set in HyperHQ. I selected "Use rom path from HL settings". I have zip,nes in the rom extensions field.

thanks

FYI - I tested this last night and HS does pick up parent wheels. Those clones without their own wheel images had their parent wheels showing in HS properly.

I also noticed at least one parent ROM show up when checking, even though that parent (futariblk) isn't in my XML. I'm not sure how that could happen. Very odd.

...'please, select system\Settings\Nintendo Entertainment System\Emulators.ini' not found. Rom path from HS.ini will be used.

This is very annoying bug because i can not track it.

The program retrive HL/RL path from this field:

HSChecker00.jpg

This field by default has value "please, select system" what gives you a path like "please, select system\Settings\blah blah blah" which obviously can not be found.

This field is initialized at program start and is reinitialized every time you select a new system. It should never be queried before init.

I don't really know why/when it happens. As a workaround, you can set your Rocketlauncher path directly in this field (it's editable).

Interesting. I will rewrite the algorithm then. Don't you know by the chance an option to turn this on/off in hyperHQ? I can only see use parent vids and themes there.

For the second one, futariblk is itself a clone of futari15. Do you mean futari15 is shown in your check table, while it's not in your xml?

Completely agree... awesome tool, particularly for non-MAME systems. Thank you!!

great tool, some minor details could be updated like hyper launcher to rocket launcher and so on...

is this tool still in development?

I occasionally fix/add stuffs, but not very often lately.

By the way, in new version (available on github, including binary) I already added some sort of localizations, so one could translate it to real English, change HL to RL and so on. It's not tested yet, so I didn't post it here, but it works.

how can I get the new version from GitHub? I tried but the files do not look like the ones in the installation

I think only the source code is available on GitHub. You will have to compile it yourself.

Sorry, I can't help you with that. I can only compile MAME from very simple instructions...

I include debug binary with every commit, and sometimes I also update release binary. The difference is only some very minor optimization for release and more detailed log for debug.

You download source, unzip, go to \source\bin and here they are. That's it, you can delete all except this folder.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH NO RELEASE BUILD, DON'T USE IT ON YOUR MAIN SETUP.

I don't know exactly.

Some features are only half implimented, and I would like to finish them, before realease.

Others need to be hevely tested, and it takes even more time than actual developping.

On top of that I don't have too much time to work on it lately, so don't expect it soon. Maybe at the end of next month.

This is by far the most useful tool for HyperSpin I've come across.

Thank you xttx for providing us such a great tool  :drinks:

There is one little missing piece I think you just forgot to add it in and I would like to request for the next version.

When I do Check for missing media in another folder there is no check for missing theme.  All other media types are available so I think you just forgot to add it in.

Please add that option in the next version.  Thanks a lot bro!

xttx - I would like to report a bug when renaming file inside the zip with the period in the filename.

When I tried to rename Dr. Muto (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It).zip for the GBA, the zip renamed correctly to Dr. Muto (Europe).zip

However the file inside is renamed to Dr.gba

Seem like it was cut off at the first period it encountered.

Please take a look.

Thanks.

Yup. Looks like it consider all after a first dot to be a file extension (instead of last dot). I'll fix it in a couple of days. Thank you for the report.

xttx - I found another bug with the Matcher.  The matcher is case insensitive so it doesn't catch artworks with correct spelling but wrong case.  However HyperSpin is case sensitive.

Can you please make the Matcher case sensitive also.  Thanks.

Updated to v11.1u2

- Fixed renaming files in archives with period in filename

- Fixed (hopefully) rewriting .cue in subfoldered mode (when renaming a CD image with a .cue associated).

Case sensitive artworks will be tricky because windows filesystem is case insensitive, but i'll see what I can do.
