Before I realized the new version of HS and some of the EMUs could run ISO's etc without DT Lite, I was happy oblivious as they worked so I had no need to fix them. Then one day BAM!!! I get an error pop up, the heading was "DEAMONSearchbar" and the box inside says "Error:Engine loading was failed" (Terrible England). So I went through everything, seen if I changed something, reboots, reinstalled drives, reinstalled Daemontools, changed settings in the program bu nothing? Had a look with google to see if anything pops up, I get 3 hits which are obvious, one states the guy fixed it but does not say how, one asks the question on the Daeomontools site but he doesnt get an answer and one is written in a language which even google cant translate..... Im stuck??? The only thing I think I remember changing which could have effected this was installing a new 3TB HDD? I had to change the letters of drives to get my iTunes to work. However all of these settings where accounted for when I edited all the hyperlaunch, DT Lite and emulator settings for all the systems. Tried to change the administrator setting and compatibility mode for all the settings in DT Lite... nothing??? Its strange as for a while, it did work but now I have this error??? This was not such a big deal as I managed to work around with my other systems to get this to work, just did updates on the EMU's and changed a few settings, found that I didnt even need to mount to get the to work in the end, happy days!!! However Im now adding a few of the more harder systems to the wheel. The one which has me stuck is the Sega Saturn. From my research SSF is the best way to go with this, problem is that from what little english is written about it, it tells me that it requires me to use DT Lite? Has anyone come across this error before? Anyone know what it means or if there is some other way to run this emu or this system without this program??? Polemicist Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Due to the sounds of silence I think you know the answer to your last question. DEAMONSearchbar is one of those crap things that gets installed as a third party thing. Uninstall the lot of that crap and uninstall DT and next time you install it READ the thing you agree to. You want to NOT agree with all of those crap extras in fact don't agree with anything. Do not install that other stuff and make sure it is all uninstalled (including from your browsers all of them) prior to reinstall and also don't forget on your install to include SCSI support. You will need it later.

I did not tick anything and I think thats why there is an error. for the life of me I have tried everything to get this Deamon tools to work but alas I think it just does not like my system. I would not be fussed but SEGA SATURN is the only system left that I am having trouble with. Do you or anyone know of any other EMUs that can run this system? Again, thank you for the reply! gigapig Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Firstly, always go slowly when installing free software, and read the windows before clicking next and ok. Secondly, use SSF is very straightforward to set up, check out my video guide to see if you missed anything.
Polemicist Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Last night I installed the 4Shared desktop software. I actually had a screen that when I read it said it was installing a tool bar to Chrome. I unticked the boxes but it only had a NEXT or CANCEL. So I clicked CANCEL and it continued on with the actual software install. Very sneaky tactic. Always remember to read it and TRY cancel before hitting next when it looks dodgy. Don't agree with anything (unless it completely stops the software install) and if in doubt hit the back button and look for Tick Boxes. I hate toolbars...

Ah well, at least I got Hyperspin kind of working to keep me going!! BTW, I did install one of the other EMUs... far too buggy for me to play with.
