The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Steam Link where have you been all my life :)?

A couple of weeks ago, I saw that the Steam link was on sale for next to nothing. I didn't really know what it did exactly and always thought that it was exclusively for playing Steam games. But after I did some Google searching, I was amazed of what is supposedly could do... I was kind of sceptic to be honest, but after receiving it and setting it up including HyperSpin and all the local (non-Steam) PC games I have running on the arcade cabinet, I was swept away. This thing is FREAKING AMAZING!

It works like a charm, easy to set up and a blast to navigate through. Now I'm playing on the HD-TV and I rarely feel the need to sit behind the cabinet (until friends come along that is of course). Bottom line I am glad I bought this little Steam Machine…

Just wanted to share the story with you guys. Any of you use this wonderful box and how are your experiences with it? Feel free to share and comment :)

Not sure if is same but Nvidia Shield TV can steam from PC to big screens provided you have Nvidia card in your PC and sharing network.

Ah, so it streams from your PC to wherever you hook it up.

Interesting. I'm guessing its performance for input & video lag has been good for you?

Hi,

I'm using an Ethernetcable and have had no lag at all while using Hyperspin via the Steam Link. I've also played some pc games on the highest settings, like Rise of the tomb raider and Mortal Kombat XL, without any noticeable lag. So I am very happy with this little box.

Maybe if you use Wi-Fi there could be some interference, but I don't have any experience with that so... I would highly recommend it, especially if there is a steam sale again...for about €15 you can't go wrong here...

Good luck?

Edit: In the Netherlands we do have high internet speeds. I dont know if thats the same everywhere in the States?! My gigabit internet speed is 150 Mbit/s.

Edit 2: The data goed over the internal network, so your internet speed should be no problem unless you are gaming online ?

Just need a good router if you go wifi and preferably a decent pc. Lag should be barely noticeable if at all and most of it 'll be your tv's response time.

Don't really need one yet as I have no cab and no tv. Just a couple of 27" monitors at my desktop which I use as my entertainment center.

I think if you have a reasonably recent nVidia gpu and your PC's are on the same network then you can stream for free. It popped up on my cab when I installed Steam on it which surprised me.

The quality was OK as well.
