Best and most compatible light gun

Hi! i wonder what is the best and most compatible actual light gun to use with MAME, DEmul, etc.

Would like to know the pros and cons of each alternative.

And does it work with all emus with light gun games? Or is there any non working emu/game?

Where did you bought it with recoil? Or you modify by yourself?

From what i have been told its basically just seen as a mouse. So if the emu is compatible with a mouse it should be with the aimtrak gun. Its more the emulation of the gin games that hinders things. 

This opinion is totally 3rd hand.

Aimtraks can be used as mice or joysticks. I use aimtraks as mice, I have 2. Mame setup is a breeze. All other emulators can be finicky, like laser disc and action max like the guns as the first devices detected by the system. Single gun works fine in all emus that support it under retroarch. Ps1 dual guns work great, takes some work to get going. Ps2 I could not get guns working. Dreamcast works fine as well with demulshooter and takes a bit to setup. I also recommend plugging the guns into their own usb header. Whatever you decide to get and depending on how many systems you plan to use it will be a project. Good luck.

If i decide to buy it, i want it to work on as much systems as i can. I have all HyperSpin systems working (all but the ones without modules). 

for what all of you says the best one are Aimtrak. I'll look for a good offer and i'll try to get two of it when i can.

I use the Walther P99 pistol replica, same as from the James Bond 007 games.  This was made exclusive in Germany for the wii.  I've imported 6 of them like 10 years ago.  Occasionally they can be found on www.ebay.de and that is where I bought mine.

So this light gun basically uses a wii remote as a light gun? Does it work with the same systems as Ultimarc Aimtrak? Is it accurate?

Im pretty sure the ultimarc software only works best with the aimtrak guns and its calibration software, correct me if im wrong.

It as accurate as the original wii remotes.  It doesn't have kickback recoil but it does have vibration.  I have all the light gun games on my wii and still play it to this day.  I can not compare it with Ultimarc Aimtrak.  However, if you soft mod your wii, then you can use this Walther P99 with NES, SNES, and Sega emulators on the modded wii console that supports light gun games.  So it adds to the experience.  I don't have MAME/Arcade games on my wii.

However, soon, I will be buying a modded original XBOX game console, the original xbox came with 64MB RAM, if you upgrade the RAM to 128 MB< then you can play Virtual Cop 3 on it, furthermore, I will install all the MAME/Arcade light gun games on that.  However, I do plan to buy more light guns just for that console.  I'll probably pick up the wireless EMS top gun, I am not sure.  I'll get it by the end of the year...A guy from atariage offers the service to mod the console and to load the hard drive up.  Still debating about a compatible light gun.  I do think I'll get the EMS Top gun 3 so that I can use it on my HDTV, same as my wii.

I also have a fully modded PS2 with built in hard drive, it is region free, and can play my PS1 light gun games as well.  I have a 3rd party recoil with kickback Desert Eagle wired light guns (two of them) for my PS2 setup.  I play this PS2 set up on my 32" CRT.
