32assassin Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 hopefully this happens more often http://www.sfgate.com/crime/article/Prosecutors-6-charged-with-making-fake-Pac-Man-11749616.php 1.2 Mill in cash, I wonder how much money BBB could make if he made HyperSpin a commercial Product.
BATTLEDONKEY Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Title is a bit misleading, the article makes no mention of MAME or any emulator at all. From the brief synopsis of the article it sounds more like they were selling fake pac-man/ whichever classic game cabinets as originals. To me that sounds more like restoring a cabinet and converting it to whichever game a customer wants and selling it as if it's an original, but I could be wrong
Steelkilt Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 The website is still active www.thecoinopstore.com Looks like they are selling original (or counterfeit?) arcade boards, in addition to their own manufactured arcade cabinets, etc
gigapig Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 I did not know those Jamma boards were illegal, interesting. I guess there will be more arrests to come. They don't appear to be selling any machines with hyperspin on and they must have put on that they were no longer selling machines with Jamma boards when they knew they were being investigated.
