noah Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 if i were to download every game on every system on the hyperlist how many terabytes of space would i need for my laptop? i wanted to know this so i could get the right hard drive for it my computer has 1.30 TB to use
wallmachine Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 All zipped about 12 TB All extracted about 24 TB Happy hunting.
Spawk Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I would also advise against using a laptop. They are just not meant to be used for hours on end. Guess that depends on your playing habits though... not to mention that without a video card you wont be able to play alot of those tb's. In any case if your gonna do this, do it right and get a dedicated desktop.Sent from my SM-A520W using Tapatalk

alcoatjez Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Your games can remain zipped, so 12TB will be enough.

Kondorito Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 My recommendation is to not get only one for everything; if for some reason it fails you will lose everything. The ideal setup to me would be a couple of drives, and if possible, a backup of them (on or offline).

I don’t want to have to redo anything if I lose a drive.
Fizen Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 i'd suggest that once you have everything you want run a cleaner over the mame roms, theres so much crap in some of the zips that you can basically half the size of the set. For example my mame set is 1050 roms total size including the CHD's for what I have is 14GB
