Quick Question on Daphne Image file names

Good day everyone. I'm hoping this is a quick question for y'all but I could not find an existing thread that addressed it ....

When I received the files for Daphne games the file name is .ldimg. I assume these need to renamed or changed somehow but before i  guessed I thought I would ask. I found the thread about Daphne set up in RL and followed it (shown below) , but pointing to these files names doesn't seem to be correct. I

Any quick thoughts?

Im pretty sure they havent released an emulator to read that file type.

Daphne needs to be set up in the emulator first. When you try to set up a game it will ask you for a disc.... ldimg = laser disc image

It will create all the needed files from this disc. May need to be mounted (daemon tools lite) first??

what emulator are you running?

because their is only one working emulator and that is Daphne

you can automatically download most of the games with the emulator

the only games you cannot download is Dragons lair I and 2, Space Ace and Thayers Quest.

Because you can buy those in DVD form.

Daphne will download encrypted versions of those games.  

In the link you posted,  someone was trying to use ISOs of the DVDs to run on Daphne.

(you are only suppose to use the DVDs ** to de-crypt the files download by the emulator)

** or mount copies of the DVDs on a virtual drive

I ask this because a Retroarch core for Daphne is in the works(Im assuming its not just for the android),  and might support the .ldimg format.
