robdfar Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 i have downloaded the wheel art but they are to close and allmost overlapping can anyone tell me what to change to make them smaller or just add more spece between the art? thanks
Dazz Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Currently this is not an option. In the next version of HyperSpin you will be able to specify distance between wheel images.
robdfar Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 hay dazz did you read the pm i sent you?
BassSpleen Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Bumping this thread (sorry). I'm currently setting up box arts as my wheel and boxes overlap. I don't want to reduce the boxes size, and I haven't found an option to add space between wheels (I checked some .ini files but I probably missed it...). So is there any way to space out the wheel images ?
BassSpleen Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Alright. Shame. Is it still on the todo-list or has it been abandoned ?
dougan78 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Well as you see this thread is from 2010 and it has not been done. So I will let you decide if being on the to do list and being abandon are the same thing.
BassSpleen Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I'm just trying to get an admin's answer by asking this question. I'm aware that most likely they abandoned it, since it's a really easy thing to implement. I find it sad that for a front-end that brags about being highly customizable, it lacks basic customizations.
Polemicist Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Have you looked at the settings for positioning in HyperHQ? Have you looked at how themes are made. Have you looked at jeepguys cocktail cabinet theme that is vertical oriented? You can customise the settings a lot for your own use but obviously when you grab other people's work you will have to customise that as well. No I'm not an Admin and good luck getting more of an answer.
BassSpleen Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Well, I'm actually doing as much as I can on my own. The only things I grabbed were Hyperspin/Hyperlaunch and 3D boxes. All my themes are self-made. Now, Nintendo 64 and Super nintendo boxes are quite large (The boxes I had when I was a kid were large, it's not about grabbing other peoples work here, I could make vertical boxes for those system but...it just doesn't feel right). Before I came here asking for help I tried solving the problem myself, and there's actually a way to space out wheels...But it's really ugly (Adding a fake game between each real game in database, add a blank image for its wheel...). It works but you can only see 3 boxes at the same time (instead of 5), and you have to go twice to the left/right to select a game.
kcorcoran Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Have you looked at jeepguys cocktail cabinet theme that is vertical oriented? You can customise the settings a lot for your own use but obviously when you grab other people's work you will have to customise that as well. So yes... but that still doesn't really apply to his question... 'can you space out wheel art.' Jeepguy's theme is super cool but unless you like your wheel images stacked, his theme is of little use to look at. I'm assuming that there is a variable in the HS flash that refers to the vertical and horizontal spacing of wheel images. It's possible that the Ui doesn't make a call to the ini for that value or it's simply not included in the ini because there is no corresponding entry field for it in HyperHQ. It would be great to hear from BBB as to whether or not this variable is configurable in the .ini while we wait for HS 2.0
damageinc86 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Add canvas size to the wheel images themselves, to create your own buffer.
kcorcoran Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Poop. That would require all new wheel images created... which I don't mind doing... just hate to have to make people download whole sets again when I release the theme
damageinc86 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 yeah i hear ya on that one,...seems like that's the only way though. I spaced some of mine that I'm making for myself by doing that a few times.
spotUP Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I guess you could add transpearancy around the wheel image?
damageinc86 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 yes by add canvas size i mean add transparency surrounding the wheel image,...
baddeolv Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Probably could make a batch script for photoshop to knock it out decently quick. it would literally take less than 5 minutes Instagram : baddeolv Kik : baddeolv Facebook : Brian Addeo www.facebook.com/thecorepunk
dougan78 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 If you check the unofficial c64 no intro thread we discussed wheel sized and i even posted the command line for using mogrify.exe by image magick to make them all 400x175 you just need to modify the dimensions to your liking. That thread also has a link to the photoshop script by bbb that could also do it if modified to your liking. Would take a few minutes to do.
craiganderson Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I use the Photoshop script all the time. Works great http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
dougan78 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 No mogrify does canvas size and i mention it because image magick is free not every one has ps. I used it to take all my smaller than 400x175 wheels and put them on that canvas size. Just change the dimensions and let it rip.
kcorcoran Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 i havent looked at the thread but how much trial and error is needed to get spacing right when batching images? is there some type of guideline or formula to go by when batching? eg. "i want x pixels between each image so I have to increase canvas size by x% or x pixels?"
kcorcoran Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 ok. found it with some search-fu to save people some time. SOLUTION Mogrify command line http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?36882-Unofficial-Commodore-64-No-Intro&p=348261&viewfull=1#post348261 BBB Photoshop Script http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?16099
