The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

I’m gonna build my first pc soon, but I don’t know which direction the cpu cooler needs to face in a Neos case, I have a Raijintek Aidos but don’t know if it should face left, right, down etc.

Also what requirements do you need to do when you first turn on a fresh pc? Can I scrap the motherboard, gpu, cd drivers? I heard their always outdated and it’s best to get the latest ones off the company’s site.

I also hear you must format and partition a new SSD and HDD or they won’t work, so is it necessary? And how do I make the SSD mainly for my OS and HDD only for my data, games and other files? So confusing lol

I don’t know anything about pc case air flow. I have two front fans and one rear one, so which direction should my cpu cooler go?

My cpu cooler: http://www.raijintek.com/en/products_detail.php?ProductID=2

Usually you set the fan on the back to extract air and the heatsink's fan should do the same.

Yeah, usually it is better to download motherboard's drivers from manufacturer's website. If you are using a pci-e videocard download the driver from manufacturer (ATI or Nvidia).

Install windows just with the SSD attached so you won't have a chance to install on the wrong HD, the install program will allow you to make partions, anyway on an ssd is probably better to install on unallocated space (it will create a single partion and will install on it). Install windows then turn off the computer, attach the 72000rpm HD,turn on the pc and read here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-2569580/make-partitions-windows.html , for partitioning tutorial. When you have 2 HD a single partion on both of them is ok, making 2 partion on an HD make sense when you are using it for data and the OS, if the OS fail you can simply reinstall on the partion1 and will still have your data on partion2. When you have a single partion you must recover data before reinstall.

So is it optional to format and partition my SSD and HDD, or can I just save the headache and use them outside of the box and download my OS and gaming library right away or will they not be detected until formatted? My 2 TB Black HDD is a Western Digital and I was on so many phone calls trying to find this question answered, a guy from WD I spoke with an Indian accent said it’s optional BUT according to this page from WD it claims the drive is unusable! I see a contradiction here:

”Internal HDD and internal SSD drives do not ship pre-formatted and will need to be Partitioned and formatted before being used.”

Who do I trust, the page from WD or the assistant from WD with an accent?

While installing windows the HD will be automatically partioned (one partion for the os and another partion for bitlocker and other stuff with some windows version).
You'll need to create a partion and format the second hard disk before using it, just follow the tutorial link, it's really easy.

Your cooler should just face the direction that makes the most sense for air flow. In this case probably have the fans at the front in-taking air that runs through your cpu fans and then extracting from the back fan.
