hErTz Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 I have found an almost complete US set of Disc Scans at 1402 x 1412px, I have a template for the clear discs, which is really nice but I can't find one for the Blue Discs. For authenticity I think these should be left this way. Can someone possibly make me a blue disc template from the one shown below? it would really help me out! There is around 1800 in the US Set, I have done around 300 so far as they need done by hand. I am happy to to take this on, but my PS skills wouldn't do justice to this. I hope someone can help me out, this is a much needed set! Thanks in advance PS2 Clear Template
32assassin Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 cant help you but I like to piggy back on your post a few years ago I released a set of 3D boxes based on full 300-600 DPI scans I had I never released an official set because I was missing over 300 scans I now have 1,430 300-600 DPI scans 385 High enough quality scans to make 3D boxes most if not of all the boxes came from this site I found a weeks ago http://www.evilbadman.com/Crazy_Taxi.jpg (this site also has allot of disc scans see if you can find any of your missing discs) I'm only missing Aliens in the Attic (USA) FIFA Soccer 13 (USA) Hannspree Ten Kate Honda SBK (USA) World Racing 2 (USA) Worms Blast (USA) In the Groove 2 (Proto) --> assuming no official artwork is available given that this game was never officially released I need to rebuild 190 boxes for the 3D box building script; I should be done within the next 2 weeks. if anyone has the missing snaps please pm me or post a link so that we can have a FULL!!!!! set of 3D boxes built from retail box scans. Side Note I also compared all the wheels I had to the boxes and - I rebuild (cut) allot!!!! of new ones from 300-600 DPI boxes most replacements where for low quality wheels but their are also allot of replacement wheels I had to cut because their was allot of wheels pulled form other systems that don't match the PS2 box. if anyone wants to help me finish them here is a link to my WIP PS2 artwork folder https://mega.nz/#F!0ltWyCRJ!yyi33nXPQlSwPxvehrLFGg I also did the same for the Xbox I'm pretty much down to only missing exclusive Xbox game wheels https://mega.nz/#F!spchRayK!lfNekzM4dWxuPDaZNydxeA
32assassin Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 can you post an example of the blue disc you are looking for or is this what you need
hErTz Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 Hi 32, I hope you are well, it is the same place i got the scans from, I am guessing that the same discs are also missing from there, I am working A-Z and Aliens in the Attic is missing. Heres a Blue one.
hErTz Posted April 13, 2019 Author Posted April 13, 2019 @32assassin what database are you using for this?
32assassin Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Given that I never play PAL or JAP games (their are some exceptions such as Ikagura for the dreamcast) I have a modified version of the official ones, I don't want to deal with rom filters. so I took all the official XMLs and modified them to only have US games. and my PS2 box project is down to needing to rebuild 90 boxes

That explains why I could only see PAL art for them.

The only current listings are for the Xbox version so I will include in on my current missing list FIFA Soccer 13 (USA) Hannspree Ten Kate Honda SBK (USA) World Racing 2 (USA) --> PAL ONLY
diskmach Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Some more info on World Racing 2: redump has only the EUR version psxdatacenter.com lists only the EUR version ps2-home.com also lists only the EUR version Noone I asked has a US version. Gamefaqs' cover doesn't have the TDK, Synetic or Playlogic logos as on the XBOX cover, so is likely a fake or early promotional material for a release that didn't materialize.. Finally, Gamefaqs gives Product ID as "SLES-536.46" which refers to the EUR release as US would have been SLUS, compare the ID listings at sites mentioned above. I think you can safely decrease the missing list by yet another item. hErTz Posted April 15, 2019 Author Posted April 15, 2019 going on evilbadmans missing list, the only fifa's mentioned are FIFA Soccer 07 (mexico release- ESRB-rated with PAL cover graphics) <<<< didn't realise they did this. FIFA Soccer 13 (mexico release- ESRB-rated NTSC) ebay US has two, one sold in Mexico, the other in the US, The one in mexico appears to be the one he's looking for, it has a spanish back cover. The US one has an english back cover, the same as the PAL one. it must be super rare, I also can't find a proper scene release for it. what was the SLUS for it?

SLUS-21954 according to Gamefaqs, not listed at psxdatacenter or PS2-Home strangely enough. A guy tested it: http://forums.lostlevels.org/viewtopic.php?p=32782 FIFA Soccer 07 (mexico release- ESRB-rated with PAL cover graphics) That does sound weird, not sure what he's talking about. But not of much interest to us, i believe. It can be confusing with those FIFA releases, I looked for and rebuilt some covers for other systems. Some might have the combo English/Spanish release only, and some might have separate English and Spanish ones. "The US one has an english back cover, the same as the PAL one. it must be super rare, I also can't find a proper scene release for it." If you look at the location of this later one, it says Bangkok, Thailand., where they likely make pirate copies and might print fake covers. The back looks a bit off to me also. So my bet is that it's a fake, we would need the other one. If you doublecheck the barcode you end up with CoD Black Ops for XBOX 360, so definitely a fake. https://www.barcodelookup.com/047875840034 It's a shame that you need to be Sherlock Holmes in order to weed out the fakes... 32assassin Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 this is what I have for FIFA 07 https://www.dropbox.com/s/tq605cjjzn4o31i/FIFA Soccer 07 (USA).jpg?dl=0 and all the FIFA covers I have seem to have an English AND Spanish (or Portuguese) back box, with the US rating logo on the front FIFA 13 is in the aboce link I posted but I did not get it beause it has a PAL front rating logo edit but now that I look at it it looks like a fake, the upper right NTSC white logo should have some spacing between the upper black PS2 banner edit 2 maybe not it might just be a sloppy job on the rebuild process same box is found on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/FIFA-Soccer-07-Sony-Playstation-2-PS2-Game-Complete-Free-Ship/401726583997?hash=item5d88c534bd:g:0nQAAOSwJrdchbx~
diskmach Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Evilbadman has the Fifa 07 scan, so you should be good with that. Fifa 13, if I can read right, didn't have online play, so a cover with that on it is likely fake. You need this Should be possible to rebuild from another system, might still be tricky, they often move about stuff to make it more difficult for us rebuilders, no doubt. Since you're apparently doing 3D, I suppose you're looking for the spine as well. diskmach Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Did it from the Brazilian cover, that had FIFA 13 though, but could use the logo I made for 3DS, also replaced the rating and had to do some retouching. I normally don't do fake, but the spine is an estimation between FIFA Soccer 12 and that Brazilian cover. Not sure which dimensions you're operating with, but you can just resize it. Tell me if I missed a spot, and i can improve it. 32assassin Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 my 2d box rebuild template is 3484x4400 witch is print quality but that size is way to big for a hyperspin theme. I had to resize the final 3D box to 302x559. so the FIFA 13 image size is more then good enough. I should have this project ready by Sunday, as I'm down to 45 scans that need to be rebuilt on the 2d template.

diskmach Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 I don't have any experience doing disc templates, but here's a WIP. I did not use the one on top. This is just an illustration, a png, you would work with a PSD. Original in PSD is 3000x3000 pxs @300 dpi. You can downsize as you please. The idea is that you have a PSD with layers, from the top: 1. The PlayStation 2 part, where you can switch off the thin white line on top, as that is not always present. 2. The greyish outer part. 3. The image for the game in question. 4. The outer blue part. In Photoshop you can save the selection(s) for cutting out the image. Thoughts? That looks great, i will have a better look when i get home. I have done the silver ones slightly different. I made some actions to cut the discs. Not so many layers.
hErTz Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 Quick update, I have done about 900 now, so I am half way through. @diskmach sorry I have not been in touch, work and home took over for a couple of weeks.
