RobotGuyPA Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Hello, Subject says it all. I'm using RL - and have multiple systems configured correctly in it, with roms being recognized after auditing in RL, using Hyperspin DBs For some of them, I can't get the Roms Only filter to work. I've set the Rom Path under Emulation tab in HyperHQ, and set extensions as well. Is there something else I'm missing? FWIW, I can't get Roms Only to work for Atari 5200, NES, SNES, GBA, SegaCD, Genesis, Dreamcast, PSX. It does work for MAME, N64, and NeoGeo. I can't figure out what the difference is... Appreciate any suggestions.
gigapig Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Your mention RL a number of times but the ROMs only check box in HyperHQ only affects what you see on the wheel. So if you have a bunch of games on the database but don't actually have the ROMs then that's the time to use the ROMs only check box. Most have a database which matches the ROM set exactly so there is no need to use that filter. Perhaps posting the ini for that system (found in the settings folder) will show something.
RobotGuyPA Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Hello, That's right - I have a number of systems where I don't have all the ROMs that are in the Hyperspin DB, so I want the Hyperspin wheel to only show the roms that I have. The ones that I have DO match the Hyperspin DB. I can verify that using RocketLauncher, which uses the Hyperspin DB to audit. Here's the ini for Atari 5200. In this case, I DO have all the ROMs, so I don't need the ROMs Only check - but I don't understand why, when I select it, picking Atari 5200 in Hyperspin immediately dumps me back to the main wheel. Thanks much! Atari 5200.ini
adamg Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Does that happen when you don't have the "ROMS Only" option selected? In my experience that would often happen when a corrupted piece of art was on the wheel so if it does the same thing without that selection maybe there is a problem elsewhere.
CaptainMermaidMan Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Bumping. I have the same problem. If I use the "roms only" in the wheel settings HS can't find any of my roms it just returns to console screen. If I disable the "roms only" and have all the games show up then I can find the games I have and they load just fine. I have fought with this for days. I have uninstalled everything, the reinstalled them, I have 10 x checked .ini files, audited everything, I tried don's rename tool (couldn't understand it though), but I can't get the Roms only to show any of my games for any console. Could someone come up with a solution?

Am I suppose to add it there too? In the videos I saw they left the "rom path" and "executable" blank. If that's the reason I have spent 3 days fighting with this thing I'm literally gonna go nuts.. In the bad way.

Works fine in MAME, Windows 10 64bit. 1: Have you set Hyperspin.exe to run as admin ? 2: Set RocketLauncherUI.exe as admin 3: See images below for settings in HyperHQ

Yes it's normal to leave it blank as most people use a Hyperspin Ready rom set and an xml to match. So no need to add the path unless you need to filter.

First it kicked me out like before, but then I chose Roms only and unticked wheels and parents and heureka! It works. Thank you so much!
