thenoob Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 Hello A bit confused. Consoles are perfect as the artwork folders were labelled which folder the boxart went into. mame a different story. I have a full3d boxart collection . Which artwork folder do they go Into? And do I have to change any settings to have the boxart populate on game scrolling like they do on the consoles?
thenoob Posted July 31, 2021 Author Posted July 31, 2021 Or do I need a “mame theme” that lets boxart populate like the console themes?
Spawk Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 Mame is arcade machines... so they were never sold in a box like home console stuff. You could try to use something else like the promotional flyers or marquees to make "custom boxes" but not every game has nice artwork. Some have zero artwork, not even a marquee. Theoretically I think it would be cool to use pics of the control panels for this. Again though, there would be a huge number of very generic "1 joystick and 2 buttons" type of games. And I just don't think there is a good resource for this yet. "Mame Artwork" does contain some raw images but they would be a lot of work to be usable.
thenoob Posted July 31, 2021 Author Posted July 31, 2021 Got it I have a mame box set the same as this, thought I could incorporate into the theme like the console boxes. Boxes are the exact same.
