sorry djvj! i was wondering when that would happen..

anyways day 3!

Dude! Keep it up! The first games I remember emulating and playing were all the Final Fantasy games that were not released in the US. I learned all about the false numbering system and just how japanese the game really were. After that it was just pandora's box. I used to love Zophar's Domain...all of those top 100 rom sites that you had to vote on back in the day...lol. Times have changed!

A way to not loose momentum is to do a different exercise. I always like running because it doesn't cost any money (no gym membership required) but that can be said of other exercise, push ups, crunches.

Why not go all Belboa, chop down a tree and use it as a bar bell, break into the frozen yoghurt joint and use the manager (or preferably the yoghurt) as a punch bag.

You have many muscles to get the shape and many ways to do it, as I said, I just have 2 dumbbells and there's lots you can do with those.

You can always use the state pens gym, once you've beaten up the yoghurt manager ;)

Hahaha I was thinking of starting some push ups! That yoghurt manager has it coming though! I'll bare it in mind and see how I feel in the morning!

My answer th Hazzards question.

Because I'm old enough be your fathers, I didn't get a PC till I was 28 in 1998, so it was a little while till I picked up on emulation.

So mine probably would have been Mame and probably Defender or Donkey Kong. I used "Arcade @home" as a Mame frontend, I remember having issues with sound so I posted on their forum. Lazily and because I was obviously a noob my post was all uppercase, so among others the first reply to my question was "turn caps off". I didn't use it after that and reading the rhetoric and flames on youtube and gamespot, put me off forums until recently of course.

Later I wanted to get the Amiga emulated using Amiga Forever which I bought. I would have got Shadow of the Beast running and some Budbrain demos working.

I definitely remember getting Mario 64 running on Ultrahle.

I really do love this stuff and hope to be gaming and emulating till I die, which could be after my first run; I'm so unfit :)

Sorry it wasn't a short answer.

@Hazzarrd. So you didn't like the clean shaven look then?

There is a lot of truth to that.....overworked muscles with no time to rest will do more damage than good....

Have an oreo and a glass of milk. You have earned it.

Just to reiterate what Rust said, your muscles need time to recover or you can hurt yourself a lot easier and when that happens.....you start back at a frustrating square one because you cannot run due to injury. As a suggestion, what I like to do is run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Also, the biggest factor why people stop working out is.......you guessed it.....lack of motivation. As also another suggestion, what i like to do is what i call pole running.....so see those lovely telephone poles...staggered evenly on the side of the street? Well this is what you do, while jogging, from pole 1 to pole 2, increase your speed of the run, then from pole 2 to pole 3, run at your regular pace.....then from pole 3 to pole 4 increase your speed of the run again, and repeat from pole 4 to 5 by running at the regular speed, etc. Do this when you feel you can tackle that hill easier. Otherwise, keep up the good work Bro and never lose your spark of motivation!

Hazzard, keep up the good work also! Starting the workout regimen is prolly the most difficult of all.....you have to contend with yourself physically and mentally. Once you tell yourself you can do it, you have set the standard and attained accountability of yourself.....and when people start noticing the pounds shed off of you, that just gives you another motivation booster. As a suggestion, do quit the smoking.....when I was growing up, my parents had all the doors and windows closed and so was exposed to the "haze" that was floating around.....clothes smelled really bad no matter how much I washed them. Because of the pungent smell, I was lucky enough to tell myself that I would never smoke and now the smell is quite repulsive to me (unless its a cigar :) ) But alas, as a smoker, you will have many demons to slay on your quest to quit. It will be like destroying your "Kefkas and Sephiroths" in your mind

Good luck on your journey to be fit and live a long life to play all those awesome games (for me, my time has been spent doing wheel artwork instead of games :P)

Thanks for the thoughtful post man! I have been giving myself intervals using Real Estate signs and street signs! Similar to what you said about pole running but mostly because I need to slow once in a awhile. Lol. I'm going to do some brisk walking today with maybe a little running. Not a serious push but something. Maybe a couple of push ups.

HyperFit - Episode #9 - Fat Chance

Hey Homies,

There was a chance I was not going to run today...but I could not give up! Nope, I have to keep pushing but being safe and taking it easy when necessary. Sometimes we need to take it slower, not stop. Thanks for all the great information and kind words homies.

Thanks for your support,

Steve

Nice job bro looking forward to the next one! BTW, what was that cool music you were listening too? Sounded like a Hardcore Punk/Van Halen!? Minus the DLR of course

Great work Steve and great skeleton impersonation, just how I thought they would sound.

Firstly, I bet when your summer started out you didn't anticipate learning video editing, getting fit, being an inspiration or buying a new TV. How does it compare to last summer?

Great work Steve and great skeleton impersonation, just how I thought they would sound.

Firstly, I bet when your summer started out you didn't anticipate learning video editing, getting fit, being an inspiration or buying a new TV. How does it compare to last summer?

Hahahha. I tried my best with the Skeleton lol.

Last summer, I learned how to build a computer. I wanted a media center using XBMC. Once that was complete I needed a new project. Enter HyperSpin. And Steam. And integrating all of these components. I learned a lot about patience, RTFM and troubleshooting last summer. But that was also the beginning of some serious weight gain due to all the sitting and tinkering.

This summer has been all about learning. I'm learning how video edit, set up new systems in HS, utilize all of youtube's features. Most of what I learn, I pick through emulation. Not 'game emulation' but emulating what others are doing and trying very hard to make it my own. Youtube tutorials are my life nowadays!! I realized that if I wanted to continue enjoying all of this wonderful media and hobbies I would have to change my physical habits. Otherwise, I would just balloon every year. Not to mention my doctors visit that helped me get my ass in gear.

The TV...at first that broke my heart. 46 inch Samsung. I loved it. It was my first purchase after getting teaching gig during that shitty recession. When it fell off the wall it was like a family member died. Ol' Sammy Sung. Then my girl said, "well maybe its just a sign that you need to get a new TV." My what a sign, the new TV is freaking awesome. 55 inch Vizio Smart TV MEGA OPRAH Edition. GameCube and PS2 in HD with GTX 660ti....amazing. Katamari Damacy never looked so cool!!

well dudes, i dont know what happened, but ive been sick as shit for the last 6 hours. I've had the worst headache ive ever had in my life. It throbs like every 20 minutes, and during that i cant really see straight. Looks like my weekend is canceled, and hopefully(if this is food related by some crazy happenstance) more hyperfit. on a good note, i had to put another hole in my belt today

HyperFit - Episode #11 - Lone Wolf and Fat

Hey homies,

I didn't sleep as much last night! I was trying to find the perfect settings for PCSX2. What a pain!MGS2 stutters during cutscences and Dynasty Warriors 6 won't start in HyperSpin!! But I still had to do my exercise! I'm at the point where it really makes me feel good...it's feeling more normal. I feel better afterward! Still I'm very tired! Feel free to join in, no pressure!

Thanks for your support homies,

Nice one Stevie, and Hazzard, I hope you feel better before the weekend is out.

For me it's Saturday night, I'm gonna have a drink and watch Joysticks (1983).

Have a fine weekend everyone.
