Platform Theme Requests

Please let us know what platform themes you would like created that is not yet available for download

There are no default themes at all, and also overrrides will not allow the old zipped ones.

Maybe focus on those, rather than the main menu ones ?

The Default Hyperspin one (below) is perfect and maybe could be adapted to just allow the Hyperspin logo to be changed to Nintendo Game Boy, MAME, Nintendo Switch etc + a different background ...

Just need different colored video borders to mix it up.

That is just a little place Holder for the themes that are not created as of yet but there are a lot of default themes that should be syncing to the frontend. Make sure you are up to date and clean the cache. Not sure what is happening for you specifically. Anyone else not getting any default themes to sync up?

Are these default themes ?

If so maybe keep in mind that when boxart and media are put in place these are not going to work very well.

That's why I mentioned above about the look of the Hyperspin default one that leaves plenty of space on the right hand side to show the boxart and discs etc correctly, as well as the logos.

They just need a different coloured frame and a different background and they would be perfect IMO.

These are not default themes. Default themes are not going to be a focus for a little bit. Feel free to create your own for now if you want. I have to finish up one thing at a time but I plan to get those finished in the next few weeks

Without default themes Hyperspin just shows the wheels over the Main Menu, making it currently unusable.

Is Hyperspin supposed to use the default Hyperspin theme whenever the default theme is not present ?

If so, it doesn't (for me anyway)

Yes it is supposed to be showing up for the themes that are not available yet. Can you please post a video of what you mean by hyperspin being unusable?  I'm not sure if you are experiencing a new bug or something but I'm not sure you have a good install, or it's not up to date

What i mean by unusable is that it does not use the default Hyperspin theme when one does not exist and simply puts the wheelart over the Main Menu theme instead (see attached)

This on top of taking 15+ minutes just to load Hyperspin up to me makes it currently unusable.

Sadly I think you are heading exactly the same way Launchbox did .... even after 7+ years it's like a Ferrari with a moped engine as it runs at a snails pace, be it loading times, exiting times or just generally scrolling through your setup.

It's the cache system/encryption that will doom it in the end (IMO), but at least I still have Hyperspin 1.5 which looks like it will NEVER be equalled 

Apologies if I sound negative, but after hoping to see Hyperspin 2 for 10 years+ this isn't what I thought it would be (for me anyway)

Just a simple HD version of Hyperspin 1.5 would have been awesome.

This is only a beta version bud. It's very much a work in progress and by no means is it anything you should consider final. It's getting better day by day so please be a little patient with the features and also note that it is not going to be a direct copy of LB or BB, i assure you that it will be amazing however it's going to be a slow haul to get there

Also you should probably let @fr0stbyt3know about that default theme situation you are having because I am positive that you have something effed up with your install. That screenshot is not a normal thing and once you get it fixed you will see that the default theme actually works the way that you are asking about. 

Also, both of the above platforms have default themes created and are syncing so I think you are going to be shocked to see what you are missing out on once you get your setup repaired or reinstalled

i have re-installed it about 20 times now and have set exclusions in Windows defender, deleted everything from my computer to ensure a clean install each time and each time the same results.

I am using Windows 11 64bit version 23H2 just in case that's relevant. 

One thing I did notice when I was looking at HyperTheme a few weeks ago was that it was coming up with multiple logins for me (maybe this is the issue) ?

Maybe every time I am wiping it clean my end then starting again it's not clearing some data your end, because I know 100% it's not on my computer.

Maybe if it was portable and didn't have files literally scattered all over Windows it would be much easier to fix ?

Also, there is no doubt that it will LOOK awesome, all I am saying is no matter what you do with it, the way it's all setup you will have exactly the same speed issues as Launchbox using a cache system and encrypting the hell out of everything.

That's why even to this day, even though I have a huge Launchbox setup with 300,000 games which looks amazing .... it's totally unusable due to it's speed and they have been updating it for 7+ years.

On the other hand, the same setup on Hyperspin 1.5 couldn't care less about what you throw at it and just keeps flying along at it's usual speedy self, meaning it will always be my No1 go to Frontend. 

Surely there is a better way of stopping people selling Hyperspin.

That shouldn't be an issue I would have thought (people selling it) but obviously you want them to HAVE to purchase a different setup every time they do.

If you asked people what their top priority was I am guessing they would say speed. HyperHQ media looks great but in the end is irrelevant because all that's important looks wise in the end is the Hyperspin wheel and media, which to be fair (once the 15 minute load time has finished) scrolls very quickly.

can you please add a second version of the 3ds themes; so that the video includes both screens similar to this

all the emumovies include the second screen; your themes are compressing both screens on to the main screen
