which is worth getting oculus rift or video glasses hdmi

Guys I think I've been ripped off with the hdmi video glasses apprantley there not HD resolution and are false advertisement now its a ? To try them out or buy the oculas rift dk2 I know its great for games but what about movies also the fact oculas rift is in development still makes me think should I grab the development kit 2 version or wait for the consumer release

I hate to say I told you so, but when you first started a thread about it, I said those cheap ones off ebay wouldn't be that great.

So you got some for your birthday and you weren't impressed? I'd be interested in why they didn't live up to expectations.

I would personally wait to see how Occulus developes and what other competition arrives, unless you've got tons of cash and can't wait.

For me it's still too early, but the next few years should be interesting.

Why on earth would you buy an occulus now? That thing is going to undergo MANY revisions before we get the consumer version.

I'm hoping that from here they go to the Consumer Version 1 rather than a DK3. I would wait if I was you, get your fill from the videos on youtube and imagine what it's like. They have many things to sort out first. I was ready to drop the cash on it too, but then thought, I want to be blown away by my first experience and the consumer version should do that. Plus, after the shipping is calculated it's around $550 for Aussies.

Well I've decided to not cancel the hdmi video glasses and give them a wirl if anything goes wrong or there not up to my spectations I can get my money back with PayPal. As for the oculus rift I'll wait for the consumer release to come out cause the makers even say don't buy dk2 release wait for consumer theres still many bugs and issues with it plus the fact they plan to make it smaller and less heavy and make proper headphones built into it so time will tell. Not to mention people get headaches and sour eyes from it after a few hours plus god knows what else. Still as far as I'm concerned its best we stay away from them but try your mates one instead. I for one tried the dk1 release cause. My bros mate let another mate of his borrow it from him I tried the roller coaster simulator and the 1st horror one the experience was incredible but after I was on for a while I felt tipsy when I took them off and felt like I was still in vr. Note these development kit types are for devolpers collectors or testers not really for normal customer use yet I'm sure they will catch on in the near future by then all type screens will be a thing in the past or new technology will make apperance and head out.
