Does anyone know if that tutorial to hide completly window works with a resolution of 640x480 instead of 1024x768? because I have a sega naomi that the monitor only works to 640x480.

Excellent tutorial! Im having one issue, read the entire thread and didn't see anyone mention this. After HS launches upon boot up, I have to click the mouse or press alt + tab to regain "focus" on HS or the keyboard and CP won't work. Anyone else have this issue?

yeah I have that issue occasionally. and it's because there is a process that's loading in the background shortly after hyperspin which takes focus

Whats focus? I have the odd stuttering with videos on first launch im hoping this cures it after fully shelling

I have small lag when it first loads still. but only for a few seconds

Focus meaning HS goes to the background and you have to click or hit alt tab to get it in the forefront. If your keyboard/CP work after booting its not happening to you.

Here's what I got going last night. I tried some backgrounds and other color schemes for the boot screen but ended up keeping it simple for now. Two questions, I got rid of the spinning circle graphics but a cursor with a spinning circle still appears right after the welcome screen. Any way to get rid of it? Also, the boot animation takes a few seconds to appear is that normal? Sucks that the BIOS part of the boot takes the longest.

Yer i found the volume problem when i used instant shell i hate to tell you this but i think explorer controls it

I think you can get rid of the blue circle with a bit more tweaking

I actually found a space invaders cursor pack and replaced all of my cursors so now the pointer with the circle is gone and I have a cool looking cursor instead. The sound thing is definitely an issue, hopefully someone can post a solution. I tried to fix it for a while with no luck. Found this cabvol.exe utility but it did not work for me without explorer.

On man I put that together from a four frame gif, it was a bit painful. I'll upload it and post a link.

this is great thread can someone update with details on how to control volume up and down after a full windows shell?

im thinking a third party app controls volume but i have no clue how to add it to the start up like hyperspin any advice?

i would like to have button on my cabs with volume up and down that control the main volume not the amp.

many thanks

Steve

I used to use one called volume2 I think it was ok and did the job. but there might be better ones. to get it to run with hyperspin. in hyperhq u can can add a startup item. if u already have one thing starting u can use an ahk file. then have it start multiple things and set the ahk to run on startup.

Autohotkey and a sound script can tie keystrokes to system volume I believe. I haven tested this yet. I will do so in the next few days.

That would be great thanks

Made a script, tested and working. I'll post it later. Time for bed. I work over 12 hours through the night.

EDIT: I'm still working out a few issues. One issue is that the script will not work unless explorer is launched. Stay tuned.

EDIT: I now have something that works perfectly. Tomorrow I'll clean up the script and then share it.
