making your own rom xml list

to make your own list the way i found to make a good list without spending day of keying in one Rom at a time!

you will need 3 programs to do this! Found in attach.

HyperROM2XML_1.5_bin.zip (106.0 KB) will make your list from your personal Rom directory the ones you want to run on hyperspin. it will screw up the xml. so hyperspin cannot read it. so you have to fix it with hyperspin rommanager tool.

hyperspin_rommanager_1.0-mk2k.zip (143.8 KB) great for scanning errors! as simple as a "&" in you rom list will make your xml fail!

refers you to change it to a "&" example line 1009

npp.6.6.9.Installer.zip (7.45 MB) notepad++ to edit the xml created by HyperROM2XML file located at line 1009!

all i do is in notepad++ "search" tab then "replace" find what: "&" replace with "&" [replace all] botton

once all errors are complete hyperspin_rommanager_1.0-mk2k.zip will match your roms.

Is this better than using the Create List function from HyperTools? I think HyperRom2XML is outdated thats why you get the errors when the xml is scanned by HLHQ.

i had a few problems with a multitude of tools including Dons tools to create a working xml! for hyperspin! but where there's a will is a way!

but i do like to go custom in all my stuff sorry to say dons tools couldn't do what i wanted it to do! not to diss dons tools! there great tools!

one click and all solved evan change "&" to "And" if you wish. just means you have to go to rom\disk image location rename roms to suit

You may not need this of course and this shows how to create a basic working list if nothing is available. I made it to go along with the Dolphin guide as there's no official xml for wii.

If you still using HyperLaunch 2.5 then perhaps you've not had xml errors when auditing in HyperLaunch HQ.

HyperTools try it last nite on 5 gig worth of mixed amiga adf's and using the Rename ROMs program. it crashed my pc 2x worked once

but with 1900 games to sort and match! i would take all day to match images..

Create New HyperListbut does make a error free xml. great tools better than dons tools and others!

the trouble is with the amiga i think i will walk away from amiga too complex and buggy!

stick with console arcade rom base and cd console base. less buggs no keyboard! for cab needed.

my amiga roms are too old! no good but every thing else awesome!

most dependently kick ass tools! i chuck my idea away and use hyper tools! does clean xml's!!

does the create list function still exist in Don's hyper tools? I just downloaded it the pack and its not there. Am i missing something? was it interrogated into one of the other tools? I'm trying to add a few games to the mugen list and the list generator doesnt seem to have the option to add new games that aren't already on the list. can someone point me in the right direction?
