The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Is this worth the money?

I have a friend on facebook selling this for $350 and just wanted to know if it was worth the money or not. It's a PAC-MAN marquee signed by Billy Mitchell and has a letter of authenticity. I have attached a picture, just if anybody knows then let me know to pass or jump on it (I would prefer if it was Donkey Kong, but eh? Oh well.)

I heard once that when someone signs it and puts a personal msg, like the one above, it lowers the value vs if it was just a signature.

nothing that a little solvent cleaner can't remove, the 'Rik,' part anyways ;)

also if he's a friend are you going to get the "bro deal"?

About 7 years ago I got to play BM in a 2 player game of Donkey Kong on his DK machine. I didn't have anything else around but this CD sleeve.

That's pretty cool, but you don't mention how many points you beat him by?

Awesome, being an expert on these types of things, i can honestly tell you that the marquee would not be worth purchasing for the autograph. Billy Mitchell isnt really a super collectable signature as the guy will sign anything you put in front of him...(use Dazz's post for example, lol). With the signature market, the really collectable ones would be from people that are jerks, and never want to sign anything...Ty Cobb comes to mind...And djvj is definitely correct, when an autograph is personalized its pretty much worthless. But I will give you the same spiel i give any other customer, "The value of any collectable depends solely on what the collector is willing to pay for it". So there is your "Freebe" courtesy of pawn-stars-logo-large-1.png...lol

I think it was back in 2004 or 2005 at the Winter CPL (Cyberathlete Professional League) tournament. I played competitive UT2k3 back then. Billy's booth was sponsored by some company, I think it was Hitachi Hard Drives, and they had several arcade games setup. The machines were all BM's personal machines. I know there was the DK machine, but I think there was also Ms. Pac and DKJR. There might have been a couple other cabs as well, but I don't recall. It was a challenge BM for the high scores type thing.

No, I actually played a 2 player game in person. I got a picture taken with him, but I can't seem to find it. :(

Found this interesting, but I would say that unless you are a total nerd, then really this is not worth anything. I am in England and for me Billy Mitchell is a character from Eastenders a dull and boring soap opera, not forgetting depressing. If it was someone such as Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, then it would be more of a bargain. As people have said personal signatures are not worth the paper they are written upon, e.g my name is Mark so why would I want to purchase something that says's Rick? If for example a marquee was going to cost £325 dollars and for £25 more you had his signature, then yes you might have a bargain, if on the other hand it costs £25 for the marquee and £325 for his signature then you are onto a loser. He really is not a known personality so keep your wallet in your pocket.

Very true, I was there. We both got our picture with Ed Boon and I got a MK9 xbox360 game signed... He's a cool guy!
