My HyperSearch for HyperSpin (Fr & En)

Just tested the new version and tmnt now populates wheel art and themes after I deleted and readded. There is some kind of video display problem

Things to do still:

1. Games still don't launch. I suspect it's becuase this is launchd as an exe and not through hyperlaunch?

2. Various system videos don't display. I suspect this is a naming convention thing

3.Favorites addition should all to compile all favorites from all systems not just the functionality of searching one game. Search systems and press favorites to add all games is desired. Ability to select various systems only to create a ultimate favorites wheel so you can see all your favorites from all systems in one wheel. Right now you must search keyword per game to only add that Mario game. Ideally we shouldn't have to search a game name to create system favorites

I've added a checkbox instead of the button to use all favorites as database , and use all options ,

for sure search on more than 2000 favorites is a bit necessary...

You can find the duplicate titles also in the genre xml but the wheel xml doesn't gret duplicated ie megaman

5. I'd like resultants genre to appear first in alphabetical order on my wheel. Sure I can move it but after using hypersearch it always puts things back in r's. Can you maybe make resultants be _resultants so that the wheel appears first away from my other wheels I created?

2 --> due to joy & virtual keyboard monitoring --> seems to be fixed

3 --> new pack with new background added --> fixed

4 --> i've not see this problem , i need to know your search keywords and options activated --> need info

5 --> please check the use xml indexes on hypersearch options in hyperHQ --> maybe fixed

Great job on the video fix, keyboard stickiness! If I delete my list and recreate them I see the videos working. Almost done here, can you hammer out these last 3 bugs/enhancements?

Things to do:

1. Resultants genre still can't be moved permanently. I want this to be the first/last option. I have indexes on. Note I can rename resultants to say zz_resultants but if I ever show a new results, then it renames zz_resultants back to resultants so it gets meshed back in my wheels I created. My resultants wheel art is distinct to separate it from my other wheel art. Can you rename resultant to zz_resultant or allow for renaming it so I can fit it where I want it even if I use resultants multiple times?

2. I create an all favorites wheel OR then I want to edit it. When I choose edit, I see 1855 favorites, I press yes then I see the virtual keyboard display on top of where the list of games show up and I cant see the list of games to edit. I push esc to try again and when I go to edit all favorites, the list is now 1302. If I delete all fav and re create it I see again that it would be 1855 but after selecting yes I never see the list of games but I see the box it would be in and the virtual keyboard is on top of it. When I view all favorites I see random wheel art missing, themes and videos missing if the wheel art isn't there. Most likely because of the bug described here?

3. If I update videos or wheel art or themes on my system how do I just get Hypersearch to update its videos etc? You know like how do I get the hypersearch video folder to also receive the update that I made in say gbas video folder. This will be an annoyance if you are still updating your system and if you use hypersearch before you are 100% done. hi , points 1 & 2 seems to be fixed now , for point 3: good idea , i've created an "Check Medias" button on hypersearch options window in order to check and update new version of artworks and vids for all existing games contained on hypersearch genre list.

I used an older version of this and like it however i couldn't get a game to launch,on this version everything is different,i have no idea how to get this to run in the background so it can be used in hyperspin,i run it,choose directory and i need to choose one of my systems,i choose mame,it then scans and opens a window where i can search,there is no launch button or go button,where do i go from there and how do i make it so it's like the older version,i like pressing a hot key and up comes search ! tho i still have the problem that i don't know how to launch a game once it's found.

This creates a genre list. Exit the program then in hypersearch wheel press the genre button in hyperspin. Ull want to use the most up to date exe on the main page, I've been working with Roma for weeks now. Hoping the fixed version just posted nails it 100% hes so close

I deleted hypersearchdatabase.dat and I see the cleAnup happen when I delete and then create new genre for new media but I don't see the button you speak of. It's just automatic right? It would be nice to update the media when you edit a list

1. I created all favorites and I saw 1902 in the pop up the time, I checked the box and pressed yes only to get the virtual keyboard to display on top of the pop up so I can't select the games. I pressed esc then to go back in and edit allfav wheel but now it shows 1510. I click checkbox and yes and I see the list but it again removed games from the original search and it just didn't display them all the first time which is the problem. ui bug here

2. It's super picky but when you select systems and the scroll box appears, it's too skinny to see all the text for all the systems. Example you don't know which is gameboy color vs gameboy advance in the box. You could technically say this is true for genre but it's not as noticeable

3. The search box results that appears after you select the check and press yes always defaults to the lower part of the screen and I always have to drag the window to the center of the screen in order to view the list and scroll through it. I also find myself scrolling over to the system column and ordering by system first. Some may not do that but it may be nice to have system as the second column in the list

4. Maybe the media cleanup doesn't happen actually. I deleted hypersearch database.dat and tried deleting and recreating all related genres but I still know it doesn't work. Wheel art, video and theme should update. I have allfavorites, allhandheld and a dragonballz genre. I updated my gamecolor wheel art and the all changed for gb color but one called dragonball z legendary super warriors (usa).png continue to be my original wheel art. Note I havnt tried deleting it from the wheel folder manually yet. Maybe this is happening because I don't see the button you spoke of?

Hi , there was many changes since third first beta release. You have to folow instructions step by step from beginning to get new hypersearch working. For example on first launch you have to select your hypersearch item name , it can't be an existing system name but the name of the dedicated item name you created for hypersearch : usually it's "hypersearch".

All is explained on first post or on read me.

This have a best compatibility with database , and offer many more features than the previous one. I'm trying to fix some buggs in order to post final release , but this version works well also.

No what i mean is,i do not want a new wheel,why would i when you gave us a pop up menu,this is far better than another wheel item,this means i scroll through 75 wheels to get to yours when i could have just pressed ctrl+enter !!!! but also that the last version has an exe,you run it and it sits in the task bar,then using hyperspin the menu appears,in this version it's almost like a completely different program and doesn't do what it did to begin with,also there is no explanation as to once you make the lists,what do you do ?

now from what i read in the instructions i was to replace the old exe with this new one ? is this what i am doing wrong and that i should have kept the original and also used this to create the lists ? im lost sorry

Hmm , i think you are talking about the other HyperSearch , it's not the same program , that one is completely different and independant from the other one, look for the good topic ...

Hi , for point 1 , when i test with your databases folder to create a favorite Wheel , i got 1907 results and i can save or edit/sort them , and i still get 1907 results ! maybe i need your new databases folder (with all Inside) to understand the problem.

point 2 : fixed : now you can scroll vertically & horizontally genres & systems .

point 3 : fixed : now gui windows are centered

point 4 : the button "check media" is on hypersearch option panel , on the bottom , near the option "recreate database"

point 5 : fixed : now when you have made a search result on mode "show" , the next search result on mode "show" will let you save this previous result or overwrite it.

1. I think there is a max on total favorites that can be displayed. My all fav is like 1900, I save all favorites the loading bar finishes but then displays the yes box but it's not functional. I esc and go back in and edit all favorites and it shows like 1386 now and when I push edit I get the non fictional box with the keyboard overlay. Must esc to continue, edit works for all my other wheels. Sent you picks and folder

3. Saving results is a cool idea I guess. I tried it, I had results, saved them, named it castle, and showed new resulted named wario. Then I went to my genre and found that all my previous genres have doubled. So now I have two zeldas, two xmen etc genres. I manually deleted those but this shouldn't happen

4. What I was requesting instead of the save results is to RENAME the genre resultants on the backend to something like say aa_resultants so when you go to the genre wheel the results genre is always first. Right now it's called resultants so it's in the mix of all my genres. I have results wheel as a stand out color so I can quickly get past it without looking. I'll send you my genre art, feel free to share it in the main download if you want

5. Can you add a button on the hypersearch exe to view options so you can run it in exe? I see a shortcut for it on f2. Can you add a button to the digital keyboard? Update media works brilliantly

6. It's the first time I tried to load an xpadder profile upon start up and it only wants exe for that in the options. How do you load a profile on start up then on exit reload the hyperspin xpadderprofile

Hi , for point 1 to solve the problem , i need the first all favorites xml saved (before editing) and the all favorites xml (after editing) , the problem of the non fictional box with the keyboard overlay seems to be fixed now.

for point 3 , maybe it was a variable not cleaned , seems to be fixed also now.

point 4 --> fixed : results genre will now appear as first genre

point 5 --> fixed : added param. button on virtual keyboard

point 6 --> here is the bottom of my hypersearch.ini to run xpadder :

1. Xpadder exe doesn't run with your suggestion. Row 207 of hypersearch gives error. Sent you the pic. I tried adding quotes to the 4 lines and I tried no quotes to the 4 lines but no luck

2. When you show results and it asks if you want to save previous results, you press yes but then you have to input a name you want to use. Only problem is I forget what results I had. If I name it and press ok then I see the results. I think it makes more sense to say when you want to save results, press yes, then see the result list, press ok, THEN create a name for the list so you know what you are naming

3. When I saved results and created a new result then checked the genre, it is cleaner but I do see the repeats. I see resultants is first (thanks) then I see my other wheels. Then after my set it seems that the entire set repeats itself EXCEPT resultants. If the genre list displayed resultants a second time, I wouldn't have caught this. Either make resultants duplicate too or prevent duplicates all together

for 1 / as i can see in your pic , your xpadder path is not valid , or your file xpadder.exe is not on this folder : E:\...\hyperspin\zips\tools\ ---> maybe your good path is : E:\...\hyperspin\zips\tools\xpadder\ ?

for 2 / ok , now you will enter the save name after check the previous results.

for 3 / i hope that this problem of "double" is fixed now , i've modified another variable , my test is now ok. ;-)

For xpadder can you send me exactly what to paste in the ini? The other post had some "" in it so I wasn't sure about it. The path was exact, I copied the path and put /xpadder.exe at the end for the target. For the profile I did the same thing and put /p1.xpadderprofile at the end. Maybe I did something wrong?
