Hyper theme issues

Is there a list of animations that don't work with Hypertheme? I know the strobe doesn't work when published, but I recently tried to use the Flag animation, and it just skipped to the final gram as opposed to animating.

Also, what's the file size recommended for importing a PSD. I build my themes in PSA, then import the whole file and manipulate it easily. Is this the best way to do it or should I just import each file separately. I've noticed that some themes "load" when the video pops up, causing a pause and h jumping to the final frame. Thanks for your help!

1024 x 768 px

72 dpi

8bit RGB

Name the layers:

(case sensitive / in order they get imported into HT / don't have to be in that order in PS itself though)

  • Artwork4
  • Artwork3
  • Artwork2
  • Video
  • Artwork1
  • Background

Make sure the background is exactly 1024x768 in HT. If it's larger it might get displaced, which might only become apparent when running it in HS

All layer effect (drop shadows etc) must be resterized (or turn layer into smart object)

I often make a copy of the psd before doing this and then delete all layers that aren't going to be imported

Take note that all artwork will appear exactly in the place they are in PS, but the video border only appears once you add a video and it'll have to be placed manually

It's adviced to lock all layers in HT directly after importing the psd so you don't accidentally move them around

Animations to avoid:

  • Strobe
  • Flag

Thanks for the info. Another issue is I am getting some slight pixelation Jaggies when imported from PS to HT. I'm using a widescreen monitor, and is this a result of a 4:3 to 16:9 image?

To avoid jaggies on a 16:9 screen you have to export pngs from photoshop and convert them to .swf in flash professional. The "smooth" flag in flash will improve your artwork.

http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?37342-Batching-PNGs-into-SWFs here I posted some scripts to use in flash, with those jsfl you can automatically convert a whole folder of .pngs to .swfs.
