whirlybird7 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I'm in the process of finalizing my roms and emulators and will be starting my cabinet next week and I want to make sure I've got all the games. What are some of your favorite go-to games? System does not matter.
craiganderson Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 my favorite go-to game is "scramble' on mame i hope that helps http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
whirlybird7 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Has anyone been able to find a working copy of the Simpsons on MAME? This is one that I really want but can't find.
Dubbloseven Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 could be the wrong rom for the version of mame your using. right click the simpsons and click audit, see what files are missing. My YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx0yXVItMU6uz4z5hUavGgA
Funkyphresh Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Has anyone been able to find a working copy of the Simpsons on MAME? This is one that I really want but can't find. I have simpsons2p running fine on MAME 0.139 but you'll need it's parent rom simpsons.
whirlybird7 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 I have MAME 0.145. Is 0.139 a better version?
Dubbloseven Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 158 or 159 is out so the rom you have im guessing is for a more recent version possibly. if you upgrade you may have to upgrade the rom set as well depends when and where u got them. Funkyphresh Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Can't really speculate which version between the two is better...all I know is that I am running heaps of games on it so I've stuck with that version. I use it for a wheel titled "Classic Arcade Games" and got all the oldies on it. Whenever I come across a rom that my version of MAME doesn't support I just add a different version of MAME on the same wheel to handle that rom to keep it all tied together. Hope that helps some.
whirlybird7 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 0.0159 is the most current. Will the current version work in Hyperspin?
Funkyphresh Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Any version will work in Hyperspin, it's just a matter of finding a batch of roms that work for that version. I tend to always stick with earlier versions because I've always ran into problems running roms on the most current versions.

HazzardActual Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 you might need to get the most current module. can you post the error its throwing?
kweller Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I know there are better, but I found Neo Bomberman insanely addictive. Also, Streets of Rage has a special place in the heart for the many hours of wasted youth.

Hyperion Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 For me it's Final Doom (PSX), Final Fantasy XII (PS2) and Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2). My first cocktail cab: The Hyper Arcade Entertainment System Win 7 64bit | i5 3570K Overclocked to 4.2GHz | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | GTX 970 Strix | Samsung 250GB 840 Evo SSD + 8x4TB green drives in RAID 5 for XBMC/KODI
Suhrvivor Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I just try to put as much games as I can, all roms from arcades and old consoles and as much ISOs as I can fit. Any PC indie game that you can play with a controller are welcome too. Anyway, I always find myself playing the same games i did when I was a kid.
HazzardActual Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 If you're a Qix fan, check out Panic Street on MAME. Its basically a non adult version of Gals Panic and its fun as hell. Ive played that game more than any other in my MAME stuff.
SubZero Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 And be sure if you have mame 159, you also have the 159 romset
whirlybird7 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 And be sure if you have mame 159, you also have the 159 romset That's the problem...... How do you know what rom set you have?
