rubgut Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Iam having trouble getting hyperspin to work on my arcade legends game, got hyperspin working on computer, purchased ultimarc card, when it loads the screen is scrambled. i have no idea what is wrong
Tredog Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Check resolution and or hertz settings. Most real arcade monitors support 640x480 MAX and 60Hz MAX. Start at the lowest setting the pc will allow and work your way back up. If your windows settings are correct, but hyperspin or mame scramble, check the settings on each individual program as well. Hyperspin or mame may be turning the resolution back up when launched.
Tredog Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Post a video, someone here will know whats wrong... I have very limited experience with real arcade monitors.
albert_c Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 You know, someone posted a solution for this in the old forum. Assuming that Windows works on your old arcade monitor, I believe the solution was to turn off hardware acceleration for Flash. That was done by loading up any Youtube video in a Internet Explorer (don't use any other browser), right clicking the video, then unchecking hardware acceleration. See if that works for you. albert_c Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 If interfacing a PC to an arcade CRT monitor, don't buy the Ultimarc card. Save your $$$. Get a used Radeon HD4350 card for $5-$20. Use Calamity's CRT Emu Drivers to get 15khz video. Then use Calamity's GroovyMAME instead of any other version of MAME. You'll save yourself lots of trouble. Metalzoic Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Everytime I see someone is using that Arcade VGA card it seems they are having a hell of a time getting games to display correctly.
albert_c Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Thank goodness for Andy Warne at Ultimarc, but ArcadeVGA has had its day in the sun. Calamity's solution with old Radeon cards are much better to work with and saves a pretty penny. Can't be beat. BTW, I have 22 arcade cabs now. But only a few will be given the MAME/HyperSpin treatment. I love the idea of having the original PCB's for some games (light gun, NAOMI, Atomiswave). For the rest of the games, emulation will work fine. When you find great deals on Craigslist for CRT based cabs, exuberance can be a bad thing!
