mame screen saver

i just found this cool mame screen saver. link

you point it to your mame and roms folder setup some filters if you wish, generate a list. then it will actually load the a game and changes every so often (you can pick a amount of time) i even tried putting a credit in when one came up and i could actually play a game.

i have seen a couple posts from people in the past asking if it was possible to get hyperspin to load a game for a little bit then go back to the wheel maybe this might be a semi solution. especially if it was possible to get hyperspin to force load the screen saver for 2-3 minutes then trigger it back off again. spin some more for a couple minutes then trigger it again.. is this possible?

*edit* just tried setting screen saver for 1 minute and opened hyperspin. screen saver never comes on. does hyperspin some how disable/override the screen saver? (never noticed before because i always had it set to none.)

If I remember right you have to turn off HS attract mode.

its like a screensaver if not an outright screensaver.

I would be interested to know if you ever got this to work? I have it installed on my PC with the same issue.....it doesnt come on like HS is overriding the screensaver.

I'm running 1.2 and attract mode doesnt work because of the FLV video issues.

Great screen saver shame it doesn't have more options. I don't have the chd's in the Mame Roms folder so it throws up an error everytime it doesn't find one.

I can't think of any way you could integrate it and if Hyperspin allowed a screensaver to start, surely that would or could get annoying.

Maximus Arcade had a screen saver built in, which worked very well.

I got the screen saver but I can't figure out how to play it. Any thoughts homies?

you need mame and you also need to go to settings on teh screen saver and set time limit your rom directory and the emulator as well as the time limit on when you want it to pop up and how long you want to play it for max is 10min and you can set it to 10 for opening if you like then just do the rest and set up the controls in mame first

I use my normal Hyperspin install and direct the screensaver to it. So I imagine you use the same controls or add additional controls.
