Will this work on KitKat 4.4.2? Thinking of building a tabletop using an HP 17" Slate tablet.

It might if it has the Tegra K1 inside but I haven't seen anyone test that Slate tablet yet.

The one I was looking at has the Intel HD graphics (which suck, I know from former experience). I guess I'll keep looking for a good candidate. Any thoughts on something that would fit in a 17-19" bartop case and run Android? I suppose it doesn't have to be Android OS, but since I'm on this thread.

Probably cheaper to get a smaller Android tablet with an HDMI out and hook it up to a 17" LCD.

This is what I suggest.   Android devices and hardware are doubling in performance and capability every year.

If a few years, you might be able to upgrade your cabinet for new Playstation2, xbox or 3ds emulators.
