  6. I don't understand what you are saying. your saying that being able to build widescreen themes without having to squish art would be better ? I'd agree. a handy feature for for hypertheme would be an option to choose a canvas size.. or perhaps a simple tick box stating [ ] widescreen theme. I don't know, just thinking out loud. that tickbox could translate to a new XML entry. that would give the new hyperspin build a signal that theme made is a workaround widescreen theme so it could adjust it's interpretation of the theme.
  7. The platinum section has become quite unworkable... how are platinum users supposed to kknow where to find what? It's has become the website version of the ftp...

It should be clever, at the moment I can't think of a way on how to script this sort of detection without the aide of some sort external flag. kind of what knewlife did with his hyperbezel app. (which is a great app). I mean the program can't tell if art in the archive is squished or it's proper size, it can't see it. This is not to say that we shouldn't make themes widescreen. we should because they look awesome!   10. welcome back meep-meep, see it as an introduction night at your new school. we need to make Hyperspin look good for the new kids in light of the new school year. the school year is the hyper update that is rumored to be around the corner. so we place nice table clothes and green plants on the table (widescreen and themes, HD if possible) and we need to make the kids feel welcome (easy setup through HyperAI/Hyperlist live). but instead of falling back into the dreary nighmare that school life is, the schoolboard has decided that introduction night will be the new standard and school will be a happy homely place where everyone can be happy in a table-clothed-green-planty environment. I hope that makes sense.

  12. This is clear. Thank you. And you're on the mark with the maintenance costs. It seems I have a psd ptsd from earlier dramas when it comes to artwork development. I was doubting my self after writing that up. I doubted if what I read was actually what I read. On the ripping of part. I was talking to kondorito earlier and he had a good idea about watermarking the stuff we put out. But that needs some coordinating if we choose to put that through. Are we going back to the olden days where not only the development of hyperspin is secret but also the art development? Seriously I'm very happy with the degree of openness we have achieved here over the passed year. I remember the insurrection of DrMaxwell and other users. I remember the frustration of users creating artwork only to have it bad mouthed and set aside as "not good enough" or even worse to have the work completed and then weeks later have the entire thing be"officially released" a second time because behind the curtain people were working on the same set and nobody felt it was necessary to inform the group that was working "in the other room". I remember my own frustration after slaving away at the gameboy wheels for months with my fellow enthusiasts, the paint hadn't dried yet or the HQ set was announced and within weeks was done. gameboy had not received any attention for years prior to that. it was so infuriating to see the work we'd have done be shoved aside and remade. I don't believe in keeping secrets when it comes to artwork development, which why I tend to be sceptical about the reasons people put forth to justify secrecy. it just slows development. o dear look at me ranting again...
