How do I get HS to use a different Daphne ROM?

Hi guys,

I have Daphne working fine using the default Dragon's Lair and Space Ace ROMs that Daphne uses.  I want to have HS point to the Dragon's Lair and Space Ace "Enhanced" ROMs.  Which HS files and what do changes do I need to make to accomplish this?

Set up Daphne to use the ROM you want

I have set up Daphne to use the enhanced ROMs.  Within Daphne, it works fine.  Within HS, it's using the default ROMs.

 

Is there a config file somewhere that I can change from the default ROM to the enhanced ROM?

What exactly are enhanced roms?

The enhanced Space Ace and Dragon's Lair ROMs play all of the scenes that are embedded on the laserdisc that the standard ROMs don't play.

Started trying to set up my Daphne an hour ago. Do you have a link to any tutorials to explain the setup, roms to use etc... So I don't waste hours doing simple stuff.

in Database folder, my Daphine.xml entry for Dragonas Lair looks like this..

In my media folder, everything is named after the rom..

Wheel = dle21.png

Video = dle21.mp4

 

In my Daphne emulator framefile folder I have a dle21.txt file that looks like this

 

C:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Daphne\vldp_dl\lair

 

151 lair.m2v

 

That seems to be all the changes I had to make, my goal, was to have the bridge scene play first when I played Dragons Lair because that is how I remember it from my arcade days..

zeosstud,   you really like to complicate your life.

 

 

1.  leave the official XML AS IS!!!!!

 

2.  use your frame files as your rom path with txt as the extension.

 

 

3.  change your roms with RocketlauncherUI

 

-Opne Rocketlauncher UI

-Select Global emulators

- select Daphne Global emulator

- select "edit Global Module Settings"

 

- sleect the "Roms Settings" tab

 

 

-look for the "version"  menu

 

-from the pop up menu select witch rom you would like to run.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RocketlauncherUI was made for a reason learn how to use it.

Is that pop-up menu a new, RocketLauncher only thing or is HLHQ the same?

I don't think I have RocketLauncherUI. Not sure which solution is best. Should I rename the files and hack the Daphne xml.

I hope everyone knows that you can do this even if you are running HL2.

 

go to the Daphne Module folder and you will find the following files

AHK = Module

INI = user specific settings.

 

open the INI and you will be able to manually change the rom.

 

 

HLHQ=RLUI only gave you a nice pretty GUI. The GUI means you no longer have to edit your INIs manually.

Sounds like he's talking about the modules folder.

Maybe /Hyperspin/Modules/Daphne.ini

In that folder I have a Daphne.ahk file and a Settings.ini file. What should be changed?
