  1. TurboGrafx 16 3D Boxes

Ok, after long reads and checks over the web, I found out that PC Engine came with black jewel cases until the end of 1991, and then started to produce the games in white jewel cases. So I will be sorting out the 2D covers in two groups (black and white), and use two different templates on them for accuracy. However there is one thing that is being very difficult to find/achieve, and I think that for the first version of the set I will skip that step, and that is, the custom spine for each of the 400 games. This, unless somebody has a good source in which the spines are similarly scanned, so I can automate the trimming and perspective process. Please let me know if you do, or if you don't, but have a standard spine template that can be a place holder for the first version of the set. Cheers! EDIT: Sorry @RetroKenesis for hijacking the topic with my nonsense. I will be opening a new one now for the PC Engine 3D box set, and will be waiting for this TG16 finished one bro!
  2. TurboGrafx 16 3D Boxes

Ok, so to be sure; Tg16 came in boxes and within the boxes a cd case with the card inside, and PCE came only directly in cd cases with the card inside? I havent seen a 3d box set for PCE. They seem to be made in cases with black or white front spines. I can easily batch the 2d covers into the awesome cd templates [email protected] in a couple of minutes, the hard work resides in reviewing which game goes with which front spine, and collecting the ~300 customd side spines (unless somebody has a good source for it). I am in, as the PCE is my last system that lacks proper 3d boxes (except the n64 which I made with generic sides).
  3. TurboGrafx 16 3D Boxes

I was checking boxes for TG16 and PCE and the PCE ones look like regular cd cases (with black or white front spine). Do you know if the PCE games came in boxes like the TG16 ones? I want to help to finish this project @RetroKenesis How many boxes are left to make? Are you doing both TG16 and PCE? Let me know if my help is wanted/needed, or if you rather manage it by yourself

@RetroKenesis! Just stumbled here! PLEASE, tell me you have finished this set!
  7. Got it. I will try to look around and see what I can find
  8. Hey! What type of art are you looking for? I do not have much knowledge on Gradius, but can try helping you in find what you are looking for. Something like this?: https://www.pinterest.es/pin/486670303457341889/
  9. JOY2KEY issue on certain keys

Indeed, it makes no sense. Glad you sorted it out
  10. JOY2KEY issue on certain keys

I had a similar issue some time ago with MAME and JoyToKey. I learned that MAME uses rawinput as default to read multiple devices and to reduce lag, and since JoyToKey emulates strokes per assignation, MAME was not recognizing them. Solved it by opening mame.ini, finding the line " keyboardprovider auto" (without the quotes), and changing "auto" for "dinput" to force it. Hope this helps.
  11. Thank you! I will take a look at it later on.
  12. Hyperspin intro - Mame system

    LOVED IT! Awesome work!
  13. Hey Jimmi. There is no automatic converting process that I am aware of, but making the RL cfg files for any png image you have is very easy. I am not with my set atm, so I'll tell you by heart; hope I am not too off. Open up one of the cfg files from any RL bezel. You will see four coordinates. The first and second ones state the position of the top left corner of the game space. The third and fourth lines specify the X and Y to locate the bottom right corner of the game space. If you are not graphic savvy, you could open your desired bezel png in paint, place the mouse on each corner of the game space (top left and bottom right) and in the bottom bar of paint it will tell you the X and Y of your mouse position and you can then fill the cfg file with those numbers. Hope my explanation was not too confusing
  14. Putting rom's in to letter groups.

Hey Jackson, welcome! If you leave your josytick's direction pressed for a couple of seconds, the letter images will pop-up, and then you can scroll through the letters.
  15. Opinions on dedciated versus multiple system emulation

Same as griffin. For over a decade I have been using MAME for arcade emulation and will still do. Just some years ago I moved from dedicated console/handheld/etc. system emulators to Retroarch, and the trigger for the change was not because of speed/stability or any of that stuff; it was just because of the silly shader stuff that RA enabled for a lot of systems (at that time I was obsessed with the idea of true curved CRT experience and loved what RA was able to achieve with all its cores in a unified manner). Now I can say that RA came a very long way in perfecting their cores and their GUI, and they have (at least for me) the best package in terms of accuracy, configuration, features, and an all-in-one approach for multi-system configuration.
  16. Special artwork

No problem; good luck with the decorations potts EDIT: Disregard my request, as I managed to do it!
  17. Special artwork

Hey guys! Sorry for bumping this old but awesome thread @potts43, would you be kind enough to make a Special Art containing just time and date (with transparent background)? Example below of 4 versions (two distributions, each one made in black and white): * The background is just to show the white ones. If it is easy to make this in Flash, please point us to the right direction (describing the steps to achieve this, or a good youtube tutorial), as we are a couple of users struggling with this type of SWF embedded stuff, restricting us to make more diverse themes for HS. Thank you in advance!
  18. Comprehensive List of Natively Supported Compression Formats

    BAM! All done! Working awesomely!
  19. Comprehensive List of Natively Supported Compression Formats

Seems the pcsx_rearmed core does not have CHD support, and I never was able to make the mednafen cores work in my machine, so I guess I am stuck. So close...
  20. Comprehensive List of Natively Supported Compression Formats

Thank you @Aorin Did another test (Final Fantasy IX (USA) (Disc 1) (v1.1)) and the difference between the original 7z and the CHD is just 391MB for the 7z against 421MB (meaningless), so taking into account the time it takes to unzip and run 7z, and the over-usage of the HDD in this scenario, I'll check my RA later on to solve the CHD locator and compress the entire PSX/SegaCD dbs to CHD. Again and as usual; thank you amigo!
  21. Comprehensive List of Natively Supported Compression Formats

Ok, I got the batch file and did a test with Crash Bandicoot - Warped (USA). Original 7z file with the BIN/CUE inside is 76.7 MB Extracted BIN/CUE is 278 MB CHD file is 101 MB I am facing two problems with this. The first one is that Retroarch is not showing the CHD file when I try to load content and go to the folder I have it. The other thing is that I am able to run the original 7z file directly in Retroarch (selecting it when loading content). So, my question is; why is it better to have a 100MB CHD, instead of a 75MB 7z file? Unless this is a specific case in which the 7z is smaller than the CHD counterpart, and in the majority of the PSX games, the CHD ends up being much smaller than the zipped CUE/BIN.
  22. Comprehensive List of Natively Supported Compression Formats

You rock @Aorin! I'll check it all out tomorrow
  23. Comprehensive List of Natively Supported Compression Formats

Peeps! Awesome topic! Read it all but I might have missed something Need to save space urgently, so I wanted to convert PSX and Sega CD to CHD. What is the name of the program I need? Or is it all done from the CMD? Do all the games from these two systems work ok while formatted to CHD or are some specific games that should remain without converting? Thanks
  24. Version 1.2

    123 downloads

By popular demand; here you have the Nintendo Famicom 2D box set - This set contains over 1.200 covers! - Horizontal, vertical and square boxes; all matching the original source art - Some boxes are not from the official XML but I have created them in case those games are added in the future - The covers have great image quality (thanks to @fire10 for the source material!) Bear in mind that this is version 1.0; I will be further reviewing the covers (as a lot of them could get better coloring, borders, cleaning), and update them if necessary. Comments, likes and constructive suggestions are always welcome! If you have a game that is not present in the set, let me know Enjoy the pack Kondorito
