snstay Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 so ive installed mess 159 got everything pointing in the right direction rocketlauncher and hyperspin wise. Also got all green on my rom audit but when i launch a game i get the loading screen then it just gose back to rocketlauncher its a head scratcher to me, any ideas? Thanks
joe35car Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 What system are you trying to run with MESS? Does it work outside of RL? Maybe the system you are trying to run needs the bios? Make sure you have the rom path pointing to the bios.
snstay Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Thanks for the response. Im running atari 2600. Do you mean pointing the bios to the rom path in RL because i already have the bios pointed in the mess directory. And outside RL i get the black box when i launch the bios.
joe35car Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 That wouldn't be a problem because Atari 2600 doesn't use bio roms. So you never got it working outside of RL?
Rotgut Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 That wouldn't be a problem because Atari 2600 doesn't use bio roms. So you never got it working outside of RL? Saw your screenshot. I had no idea you could use MAME as an emulator for the 2600...! Whoa Can MAME run other old school system emus as well...? ColecoVision, etc...??
32assassin Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 MAME and MESS where merged a few months ago. So yes Anything MESS can emulate; MAME can emulate. You just need to download a version of MAME with MESS built in.
phulshof Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Driver status for MAME for ColecoVision says "good". MAME supports a huge amount of systems, but some (e.g. Amiga) are still preliminary. Still, I use MAME for emulating a lot of systems these days.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The new module in rocketlauncher requires you to give the bios path, not tested but it may show error if not set, even if needed. Simply Austin's YouTube
