drlynes Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Hi, where do I find the ability to edit which systems show up on the Hyperspin main wheel? For example, I don't want Daphne or 3DO, but do want NES, etc.. Is it a *.ini file somewhere? Thanks in advance. Todd.
damageinc86 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Yeah, delete the line from your xml file. Funny thing is, when they first moved over to this new forum they deleted all these old questions and said there's no reason to keep such an old question lol. Well here's the old question being repeated again.
SkyHighGam3r Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 HyperHQ's Menu Wizard is your best option, if you want to completely obliterate that systems presense on your build.Deleting it from the XML is good if you just want it to not show up. (I'll do this for a system I haven't finished working on yet)
damageinc86 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Yeah I guess if there is no chance in hell of ever using that system again, then use the wizard to delete. But if there's any chance you'd use it in the future just delete the xml line, that way the media and database stays in the hyperspin folder for the possibility of using it in the future.
Metalzoic Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Yep. Just remove it from your wheel list in HyperHQ. However I don't understand how you'd want NES, but not Daphne... That confuses the **** out of me.
damageinc86 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I honestly found the daphne games annoying as hell. I never played them in the arcades or on home laserdisc or anything, so maybe i'm coming into it too fresh. But it seemed like you had to be within the MILLISECOND of when they told you to hit a direction. I got so tired of making it like 4 turns or something on the dragon's lair game, and then always falling off of some cliff. Very infuriating. Maybe that's why they faded into obscurity while NES amassed legions of followers, and a game roster with so many classic games. Of course, it's ok if someone else loves them. Just didn't do it for me in the least.
Agrajag Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 ^This. My reflexes are too slow to bother with the laserdisc games!
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I have NES and not Daphne. The reason is the same as damageinc86, I have no nostalgic connection to them and they really didn't interest me.That, and my build is more focused on home consoles then anything. (I even only have like 3 or 4 games for MAME, which I lovingly renamed "Arcade")

Well here's the old question being repeated again. There is a tutorial on this in our tutorials section: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/tutorials/article/43-written-2-adding-removing-reording-systems-in-main-menu-databases/

(I even only have like 3 or 4 games for MAME, which I lovingly renamed "Arcade") Opposite for me. I decided to only keep actual arcade systems so I recently deleted all my console systems, their emus and all their games (10's of thousands of console roms/iso's etc...) And when I tell people about this arcade cab one of the things almost everyone asks is "will it play Dragon's Lair?". I love the laserdisc games myself.
drlynes Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 Wow, I reached an amazing level of stupidity with my question. I had actually been on the Main Menu Wizard using the + to try and add just NES and SNES, never once thinking of actually hitting the - button. It worked beautifully. Also, I only want MAME, NES, and SNES because those are what I grew up with, before kids and Wii/Xbox. Dragon's Lair made a killing off of me in the arcade days, I probably hold some deep-seeded resentment from 30 years ago. Thanks again.
