zillion23 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hello Hyperspin Users, I wanted to start this as a new topic as suggested so it was not buried in a thread somewhere and could help and assist hyperspin users out. So recently some of you may have been experiencing slow and lagging hyperspin. Recently with some new updates to our anti virus programs such as Windows Defender or Microsoft Security Essentials etc. that we are using, they have classified hyperspin.exe as a virus or malaware which is not true. And upon doing so this is causing our hyperspin to run very slow or lagging. A solution to fix this is to go into your anti virus software such as Windows Defender and add an exclusion or exception to hyperspin.exe. That way you do not have to turn off your software completely it will just exclude hyperspin from the virus scan. While you are at it, it would not be a bad idea to go ahead and add hyperhq.exe and hyperlaunch (rocketlauncher)exe. as well to the list. This solved all my problems with slow and lagging hyperspin. Hope this helps everyone out! Edit: Add an exclusion all these .exe's in your virus software to get a speed increase. hyperspin.exe hyperlaunch or rocketlauncher.exe hyperhq.exe Ghutch HyperSpin Startup Script.exe 7
Metalzoic Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I recommend this to be stickied to help people out.
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I'll have to check this out on my system. On a somehwat related note, upgrading to the lastes 1.4 build has increased my speed IMMENSELY.(so much so, unfortunately, that I have to retool my entire set of themes )
onyxcamaroz28 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 +1 on this thread. If you're running Microsoft Forefront, add these 3 executables into your scan exceptions and it fixes the lag issue.
zillion23 Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 I found out it definitely speeds up rocketlauncher.exe. hyperhq.exe and even ghutch's startup script exe to add an exclusion to each of these in Windows Defender!
daro6666 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 I still have the problem . I'm using windows 10 . I've added an exlusion for hyperpsin.exe , rocketlauncher.exe . I've turn of windows defender It's still hangs up on start .
zillion23 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 I still have the problem . I'm using windows 10 . I've added an exlusion for hyperpsin.exe , rocketlauncher.exe . I've turn of windows defender It's still hangs up on start . I am not sure if you use Ghutch's startup script or not but I even had to add the exe file to Defender as well because I was getting about a 3 sec delay before I could start controlling hyperspin. Also make sure you do not have any other virus software running besides Defender because you will have to add and exclusion to them as well.
daro6666 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I went back to 1.3.3 version and now its working again .
joseph2626 Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I have stoped and pause kasparesky anti virus from running now to think of it i must do so for Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials . thanks
pizike82 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 This definitely needs to be up top, just recently re-setup hyperspin from start and this made a 300% improvement. I excluded these in windows defender and my actual paid for Av. The difference was night and day. ALSO: The preinstalled hyperspin install files come with 7-zip bundled. Might be wise to remove that or at least make sure it's not the old exploitable version. Recommed: listing the website to find 7-zip in a text file, so as to not group hyperspin in any possible exploitable software in the unforseeable future.
javeryh Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Where do you add these exceptions? I am experiencing some pretty bad lag when I select a game from the menu (after boot it could be up to 10 seconds). This allows the wheel to be moved to another game before the one I selected actually launches. After exiting, the lag gets a little better (3-5 seconds) but it is still noticeable. When I'm in a game, the same buttons respond instantly. I'm using a fresh install of Windows 10 Enterprise (shelled to boot straight to HyperSpin.exe) with no internet connection but I am guessing Windows Defender is on there. The computer I'm using is definitely fast enough (i5) to run things. Any help would be great.
Guest Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Basically use a front end that’s been updated in the last ten years. HyperSpin is never going to give you the results you’re expecting.Oh, and running two antivirus apps at the same time is a bad idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
