Rotgut Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I tried using MAMEUIFX from the download pack on the site — and it works fine on its own. It will also launch from inside RocketLauncher fine, no issues. But when I launch it from HS it has horrible stuttering issues with certain games (i.e., Capcom's 1944). I've done research online, tried changing certain settings in an effort to alleviate the stuttering, but it still happens with certain games. Never had this issue with my (admittedly ancient) MAME 0.128. I would love to use MAMEUIFX but if I can't get simple games like 1944 to run properly from HS, then what's the point? I might as well use an older version of MAME, right? Any advice?
juicelee Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 it might be the bezel, try turning that off, or it might be the hlsl setting try turning them off , i had a same problem when i tryed mameuifx.

I'll try those things tonight. Thank you The main reason I want to use MAMEUIFX is because of the awesome HLSL options. But if I can't get games to stop stuttering because of bezels or scan lines then I might regress back to an earlier MAME. So what happened? Did you give up on MAMEUIFX then...?
gigapig Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Let me know if the ini files I set you work out.
Rotgut Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Let me know if the ini files I set you work out. Giga, as always, you are the man. I'll give those a shot asap. Thank you so much.

Rotgut Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Cool, juice. I'm running a 2.7 AMD processor/6 GB RAM on Win7 and a GTX 750 Ti GDDR5-2G graphics card. Maybe I might still be under-powered...?
juicelee Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 what games are you trying to run, try some basic ones , 1942 , goldenaxe, wonderboy, press f12 and check your fps and see what % you are getting. your machine should easy run those, then maybe try switching a few options on or off depending on your fps % to get it up to 100%

Maybe I might still be under-powered...? That should be more than enough... As Juicelee mentioned, try a basic game like 1942 or pacman. Make sure all HLSL and GLSL is turned off; let's eliminate other factors first. Strangely, one of the stuttering games is 1944 — but just when I run MAMEUIFX via HS. It runs fine when I launch it from the emulator alone or from inside RL. Maybe it's a screen resolution thing? I have a new 1080p widescreen monitor that auto switches resolutions so I don't think that is the issue. I didn't know about F12, I'll see what that shows. Thank you Like you also did, I am going to try Giga's ini files to see if that resolves the problem... We'll see...

Okay, I'll do that as well. Thank you

heykool69 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Sorry to bring back this thread. But i'm having the same problem. I'd tried disabling GLSL/HLSL and setting Frame Skp on Auto in Mame as well......game still lags and stuttered. Anything else i should try?

Heykool, do what I did and just run MAME "Normal" (the option in HyperHQ) for now... sucks but at least you'll get the games running properly without the stuttering. If anyone out there has anything else to try, or if you had this issue and figured a way to solve it, it would be much appreciated.
heykool69 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Even in "Normal" mode won't work for me. I had to erase everything from that version build and downloaded the HS 1.3.3v & upgraded to 1.4 manually to get it to work. Something about that other build not working in both of my systems.
