Jeez, could you maybe do something about your way of formulating your opinion on others and other peoples work?

 

Maybe something like "I'm not impressed with his video quality", "His vids aren't up to my quality standards" or simply "I don't like the low video quality"

 

Instead of "this blows!" like a 12yo throwing a tantrum

 

They're just videos. Why are you so sensitive about it? It's not like I'm insulting a person. 30fps videos in APRIL 2016 do blow.

Please elaborate? I've had a look at the latest release, and quality has much improved already. Which part(s) do you feel are bad atm?

The videos are 30fps, have bilinear filtering enabled, and aren't cropped in cases where there was dead space in the corners of the screen.

 

 

See the baked in dead space to the left and right of the screen? That looks like CRAP in a frontend. You want the video to take up 100% of its allotted space. This hits almost every Neo Geo game pretty hard, because the driver is 320x224, but most games only used up 304x224, so you've got this awful dead space on the sides of the screen. It looks like it's all quantity and no quality.

 

If you're not going to crop, you might as well stop.™

Insults are constantly hurled at you because you're usually the first to start hurling them. Case in point, your ASIO MAME thread, you were the first to call people "losers", "weirdos", and "jackballs", then later complained that you were being attacked.

 

It's the other way around, actually. I put out information, was insulted, and then we flung turds at each other after that.

Why do caps think that the games didn't run at 60fps? Almost every arcade game runs at 52hz through 61hz.

 

Only medium res interlaced games ran at 30hz.

Caps? Well I was actually referring to retro console games just to clarify. I'm no expert or anything but I wasn't aware that 60hz and 60 fps were one and the same? Of course the game videos only runs for 45 seconds in hyperspin and some of that is the title screen. Personally I don't think it matters that much. The NES and SNES actually run at 60.60hz. NTSC is around 59hz. Even though a SNES game internally, might only have 7fps animation that the artists created for the characters' animation, the scrolling and so on are actually updated at 60.60hz. Those games look fucking terrible at 30hz/30fps. Choppy scrolling and flickering are the worst.

 

Like I said, though, the bigger problem is the fact that nobody seems to be cropping games that don't fill up 100% of their resolution. That's even worse than the 30fps issue.

 

Just do a Youtube search for 60fps MAME. The difference is night and day.

I haven't checked the fps yet, but some of these issues have been adressed. What I love about this project is that they use .inp files as source. This implies that they can always change filter parameters and even cropping at a later time.

If you have specific advise, please contact motoschifo. He's already added frontend improvements lately, and would happily add more.

Insulting someones work is like insulting the person that created them. I don't mind anyone calling anything crap, but when there seems to be no post without this kind of thing, yes I notice.

 

I've never posted anything towards you afaik before this thread, it was you behaved in an unneeded/wanted manner without any proper justification. I tend to be very polite towards ppl I'm in an argument with because that's how to handle things best in general and get's the blood boiling of ppl who just want to fight or be a troll. But I guess I've failed this time around. But I actually did have a reason to insult you back.

 

Maybe I'm just hoping you'll continue this route so I have a proper reason to ban you instead of giving a warning. Nobody's perfect.

Can you name me a forum that actually lets people be themselves without risking being silenced or banned? I'm so sick of mods censoring the internet on every single forum and website on the internet. Is there anywhere left to go? Is youtube REALLY the website that allows more open communication than everyone else?

I'm not entirely sure what that has to do with my post to be honest. I'm not even a moderator here, so even if the tone did offend me (personally I couldn't care less what someone I don't know thinks about me) I wouldn't be able to sensor anything.

Unlimited freedom is not a good thing. See the extreme case of death threads as somebody being themselves and expressing themselves by threatening others. I mean, why draw a line at all.
