JoeC3109 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Hey everyone, I just installed the new demul. But when I try to use hyperlaunch to launch a game, I get a message saying it's missing the gdrimage.ini file. Is that found on the FTP, or does it need to be created? I didn't see it anywhere in my demul .57 setup, but I'm sure I could be just overlooking it. Thanks in advance
gigapig Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Didn't know it was available, so thanks for that. As you may know only Demul .56 and .57 are supported in Hyperlaunch, so there's always a risk of things not working. Anyway, I look forward to trying this out.

JoeC3109 Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Have you had any luck gigapig? I got past the previous issue, but now the emulator loads but just goes to the bios. It doesn't load the game. I'd imagine its what you were saying with the module.
gigapig Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 No, I have it working. Changed my paths in HLHQ then set the usual in Demul. Did you set your path to the Roms and bios? The bios being in your Rom folder.
JoeC3109 Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Yea I did. I have them in separate folders, but I added both folders. Now when I load a game, I get the bios screen, and when I hit play it says please insert game disc. I'm not sure which step I am missing
JoeC3109 Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Got lucky and figured it out. I just changed my bios for dream cast. It worked somehow
JoeC3109 Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 I spoke too soon. Now each time I run a game in demul, it will start and let me navigate the menus. But when the game begins, the control stick and d-pad on my 360 controller don't register. All the buttons do however. I'm kinda confused on this one
gigapig Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I too use 360 pads. I set buttons/analogue/digital, in the controls section of demul for jamma_0 & jamma_1. I then transfered the data from the Demul pad ini into the Demul 57 ini, which is in the modules folder. Just copy and pasting each one for each control system. So HL will inject the controls directly into the Demul ini Why aren't yours showing up?
JoeC3109 Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 I'm not sure. I semi follow what you're saying. Is the Jamma O and Jamma 1 in the module section that you can edit? I believe I understand the part about transferring the info to the modules folder Demul ini. I will try what you're saying, but admittedly I'm not sure I completely understand, I'm not very tech savvy.
gigapig Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 So how are you setting your controls? This is arcade Joy 1. That gets written in to the padDemul.ini I then copy and paste that into the Demul (v0.5.7).ini Demul (v0.5.7).ini is located here Once added will show up in HLHQ Whatever _JAMMA0_0 relates to player 1 Whatever _JAMMA0_1 relates to player 2 I will put my ini's in my ftp for you to have a look at.
JoeC3109 Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 You are the man gigapig. That is extremely helpful. Does it make a difference if I'm using Demul for Dreamcast? Does the same basic concept still apply? When it comes to Naomi, it seems to be running the same as before, no issues that I can tell. The problem with the controller not recognizing is only in certain dreamcast games (I set up the emu to run the WinCE games since NullDC can't, and a good amount of them are having that problem).

Funny you should ask about Dreamcast, I was just about to set it up. I only have a few games so I'll really only be doing it, just to see if I can and how it all works. Yes copy and pasting those controls makes things a lot quicker. But you may need to tweak it a little for some games. So nullDC or Demul......??
Pyramid_Head Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Only thing thing I can't figure out running Dreamcast in Demul is getting rumble working on 360 controller(s) though I mainly use Nulldc. I'm only using Demul for a few games.
JoeC3109 Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 I figured out my problem. Again, just oversight on my part. I didn't set the S1 Up/Down/Left/Right buttons. Those work in game for me, for whatever reason. Thanks for all the help again
gigapig Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Glad you got it sorted. Got my first game working in nullDC this evening (crazy taxi.) Now for the Hyperlaunch/hyperspin setup.

Those work in game for me, for whatever reason. Thanks for all the help again Some games like Aerowings 2 for example need S1 to be configured... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
potts43 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Is there a right way to setup nulldc as mine crashes just before running the mounted cdi?
HazzardActual Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 im only using demul for atomiswave. all the wheel art and preview vids play etc. but when i try to load a game all I get is errors. Gig got me to try to configure the controller so demul would write the padd(?).ini. problem is when i try to click on configure it just crashes the emu.. halp plox!
yeseye Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hi All sorry to hijack this thread but can anybody help me in adding extra gpu settings to the video plugins? i can only get this running smoothly using gpuDX10 but it is not supported when using the Demul (v0.5.7).ahk, so when starting hyperspin it defaults to gpuDX11 which on my setup doesn't use h/w only s/w. thanks
PiraHC Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I had no problem using 56 module to Naomi and 57 module to Atomiswave in 582, but I'm on HL2.25c

You can then set yours to DX10.
Sir Cyrano Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Demul sucks, is a shit. There isn`t better emulator ?? I think Demul is the emulator more hate.

gigapig Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hi gigapigI am using demul0582 but where do i find the right .AHK as i haven't got this in my hyperspin setup. thanks If you don't have it then your not updating your modules and Hyperlaunch via GIT. It's very important to do so, for starters having the modules updated will have bugs fixed and added features. Secondly asking for help if your using an outdated module, will get you on the naughty step I did resist setting it up myself for a while, but like most things Hyper related, I was very happy I did. It's very easy to setup, just follow the guide very closely, and if in doubt; ask. Lets not forget the link. www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?27528-HyperLaunch-GIT
