Ron, still having this issue with every game. Have you seen this before? Games were running when I set it up as per your tutorial but I can't see what's changed. If not I might try setting it up from scratch.

Cheers

Bad WHDLOAD key?

I look into this but I thought 18.2 didn't need a key...even though I have one. I'll try removing it and see what happens. Cheers

Hi All.

I can't seem to get multi disk games running either from WINuae or Rocketlauncher.  Most Single disk games i've tried seem to be working fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Andy

*Update*  Seems it was just the Alien Breed games i had issues with. Most Other multidiscs working fine.  Does anyone have these running and how?

Thanks

Now that 18.2 doesn't need a key by removing it Winuae worked. However, the emulator doesn't resize to match the aperture of the bezel via rocketlauncher - any ideas?

Sorted as OP States but do you use bezels for this system?

I have bezels for it and they work fine although Sweetfx looks slighty better without the bezel (less colour banding.)

Have you checked the filter options in WinUAE under ""Filter"? I have mine set to automatic scaling.

I haven't but I'll take a closer look. Thanks

Tried that but the emulator just won't resize to fit the bezel. Tried changing the module settings but nothing seems to work. Strangely enough I have 5 bezels in the folder but the global next bezel key doesn't do anything. They change in other emulators which all use the next bezel global key. I'm getting so frustrated with everything breaking when it was working.

Does your setup work as expected?

My bezels are working but the bezel change is not like you mention. If it's not already discussed on the RL site then we may have create a thread.

Gig,

Thanks for your help. Been driving me nuts! I wonder why your bezels are working! Can I grab your winuae folder to rule it out?

Ok,

So, here is how to create per-game configurations that load each time you launch that specific game.

This is very similar to the post above by Tarranius.

Lets say, you want to play Smash TV (SmashTV_v1.0_2293) with 2 players and two joysticks (or 2 player control panel). The default settings in your WinUAE setup are for Controller Port 1 = Mouse & Controller Port 2 = Player 1 Joystick. Harumph! We need to have Controller Port 1 = Player 1 Joystick & Controller Port 2 = Player 2 Joystick.

So, launch the game as you normally would in HyperSpin Or HyperLaunch HQ.

Once the game is running, hit [F12] on your keyboard.

This will bring up the WinUAE settings dialogue window:

20141121150636.jpg

On the left side, click "Game ports" and you will see the default Port 1 and Port 2 assignments:

20141121150652.jpg

Click on the drop down box for "Port 1:" and select your new Joystick or Keyboard Layout:

20141121150716.jpg

Or...

20141121150755.jpg

At this point, you can use the "Remap" button to change the button assignments.

You can also make any other changes to the settings you would like to apply when you next launch the game.

Once you are back to the above screen, click on "Configurations" on the left:

20141121150816.jpg

Click the "Save As..." button on the bottom of that window and it will bring up a Save As dialogue box:

20141121150849.jpg

You should be saving the file in your {Emulator Directory}\Configurations directory as shown above.

In the File Name box, type the exact name of the rom. IE: SmashTV_v1.0_2293 and hit the Save button.

You should see this now:

20141121150859.jpg

You can hit the OK button at the bottom and play away!

The next time you launch this game, the module will load this settings file with all of your changes in it and you should have to do nothing else. ;)

NOTE:

There are a couple of instances where this will break. If your rom name changes or your rom path (location of your roms) changes, you will have to delete the {Rom Name}.uae file and do this procedure over again.

Hope this helps some out there.

Thanks,

Ron

Isn't there a way to map a joystick and a mouse on Port 1 and only a joystick on Port 2??

Yes, with WinUAE you can get all 3 at the same time (2 joy, one mouse) but its a bit more advanced.

I am going 50% from memory here so pardon any mistakes. I know its atleast possible when your joystick is emulating keys on keypresses. Not tested it with actual joysticks myself, only the X-Arcade which acts as a keyboard. Give it a shot anyway.

In WinUAE properties, you need to use the Input configuration, not "Game ports".

Select, for example, Configuration #1

Select "HID Keyboard device".

Click on Remap. Press joystick one button and it should scroll to the button you just pressed (whatever joy1 is mapped to).

Now in the bottom part, select from the scroll list: Joy 1 fire/mouse left button

Do the same for all other joystick movements for joy 1. When it comes to joy 2, do the same but in the scroll list you now select Joy 2 fire/mouse left button.

Now when that is done, select HID-Compliant mouse and do the same, using your mouse instead.

For the mouse button, you should select the same as for joy 1 as they are actually the same button, IE: Joy 1 fire/mouse left button

If anyone that has figured out how to do this would be willing to log in via TeamViewer and show me how to do it, I would love to send some beer money your way. I'm pulling my hair out

Hi everyone. I have some problems running Amiga games. I have configured everything according to this tutorial. I have put whdload roms into rom folder and they are detected in RocketLauncherUI. However when I try to start any game (no matter, through HyperSpin or from RocketLauncherUI) emulator starts and shows classic A500 screen with hand holding a disk.

What could be wrong?

Do you have 7z set to true in RLUI? It needs to be set to be set to false. If not that then it may be your bios files.

I followed this tutorial yesterday and could make it run without any problems. Just delete all config already have:

One more information about my rom files - these are zip archives that contain lha archives. Is that correct?

No that is not correct so you may have a problem with the set and it may be the same one that I have just got hold of.

You should have a zip with the .info file and the yellow folder with more files inside. But this set is a zip with the .lha inside which is the Amiga archive. You can't rename that from .lha to zip because that does not work. The only way I got it working was to extract the .info file and folder then zip it up again.

I'm not sure yet if WinUAE can deal with the .lha archive.

Following on from that, it looks like it's possible to extract the .lha and then add that extension to the global list in RLUI. Just tried it with galax.

I just repacked it to zip and now AmigaDOS starts correctly. WHDLOad splash screen appears and then the screen goes black or displays garbage. So I have some progress, but still something is wrong. I'll reinstall everything from scratch, maybe that helps.

What sort of garbage? I remember that was caused by a cracked WHDLoad key which you no longer need of course.

Maybe is this the reason why it tells me "Not Registered" and makes me wait a few seconds when launching any game? Not right set?

All my games are .lha and at least a few i tried are working just fine with WinUAE. The only thing is i get this message (After message game loads):

Quote from WHDLoad reg page, " Starting with WHDLoad release 18.2 a registration is neither required nor possible. Please update to the latest available WHDLoad version. "

Yours is version 16.8? Might be the problem.
