Switched from Howler to I-Pac Ultimate I/O

Hi! I switched my Howler Arcade Controller to an I-Pac Ultimate I/O and i have a few doubts:

My Howler was detected by Xpadder as two joysticks and his respective buttons, so i configure profiles by system/games with Xpadder

Now my i-Pac Ultimate isn't detected by Xpadder so i can't use my "old" profiles with it.

Is there a way that Xpadder detect I-Pac as Joystick Controller?

If not, What would be the right way to configure I-Pac per System/Game/Emulator?

Thanks in advance!

I can't give you a definite answer since I don't own an ipac U

the only thing I can tell you is that Xpadder will recognize any joystick that windows recognizes.

if you set the Ipac as a game pad and windows sees it as a joystick, Xpadder will defiantly see it.

Thanks for your response, but i would like to know from someone who has an I-Pac how does he make it work. Thanks again! ;)

I configured some buttons as Game Controller (instead of keyboard) and i appears in Windows as Keyboard only. I want to know if is possible to make it appear as Game Controller.

Do what assassin said. You gotta set it to emulate a gamepad, it comes default set to emulate keyboard. Not sure why you would want to take a device that can simulate keypresses and run it in gamepad mode and use another program to then simulate the keypresses.

I have done it and it doesn't appear as Gamepad Controller. It still appears as keyboard. And i want to do it like i said, to take profit of my old Xpadder config.

the majority of people here are big fans of the Ipac,  I would assume someone would of mentioned this by now.

Like I said I don't own an Ipac, but from what I read,  you can switch modern day Ipacs from keyboard encoder to joystick encoders.

I always assumed that if you set the Ipac as a gamepad, then windows would recognize it as a generic usb joystick.

instead of configuring the buttons as game pads you should set the Up,Down,Left and Up inputs as gamepad to see if that works.

This is the first thing i did and windows and either Xpadder detects it as Joysticks. I asked to IPAC support and told me windows can't detect IPAC as as game controller. It will always detect it as keyboard.

So my question is: What is the best and most versatile way to use the IPAC? Because i read that some of the emulators doesn't accept keyboard, only joystick.

if you like to keep things as is

you can download the 360 controller emulator

http://www.x360ce.com/

Windows should see this as USB joysticks, You will have to map the Ipac keys to the virtual joystick buttons.

chances are you will have to modify your Xpadder profiles.

If there are emulators like that they are few and far between.

Many thanks for your help! But my Player 1 has 14 Buttons, so that's not an option. I'm looking for a good solution and if is possible to keep my Xpadder configuration (Which is configured for more than 100 systems with different profiles for some games) If not, i will have to configure it again.

If there's no other way i will have to do it, but i want to know the best and most versatile way to do it.

I think i found "the solution", but not sure yet. In RocketLauncher > Global / General Settings Tab > Keyboard Encoders      you can add your WinIPAC program (Which is a key configurator for IPAC Controllers) and then add profiles and configure through WinIPAC. I wil test and back here for news. Thanks to all for your help!

First off, I don't think the Howler is suppored any longer. I tried emailing him several times with no luck.

I cant get Windows 10 to recognize the Howler and there is no driver software on his website. At this point, it's a complete waste of money.

Windows 10 recognizes the Howler, but it switches between Player 1 and Player 2 after reboot. It's a mess! I switched to IPAD and no problems.
