potts43 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 After I read that Mameuifx was no longer being continued I wondered what we all would turn to. I have held back on upgrading from v172 due to Lightgun issues however, they are reported to have been solved by Pitou in this version. I found this last night and it appears to have been taken onboard by someone else. So I was wondering what others are using to play Mame with a no nag and UI. http://insertmorecoins.es/mamearcade-mameuiarcade-0-177-32-64-bits-no-nag/ thanks
griffin518 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I'm holding steady at 0.175, the last release of MAMEUIFX for now. All the recent bugs were fixed/patched in that version. 0.176 looks nice, though. dragon57 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Insertmorecoins has been compiling his own version of MamUIFX for some time. He approached the original author of MameUIFX and made sure everything was ok for him to do this and basically everything was worked out, so I would not have any issue using Insertmorecoins' versions. You can find the original thread on the MameUIFX forum if you look for it.
potts43 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 According to his website he worked with the original programmer in uifx for a while and is the programmer for messui. Seems he's taken up the reins on the mameui side as well now.
JoyStickKilla Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Have used his builds for quite a while
gigapig Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 This interesting but what are the benefits? I tried mame 176 and it's fine and also has the other systems which uifx does not. I remember uifx had drivers for some missing games, but I can't remember why else I used it.
JoyStickKilla Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Only benefit I get out of it is to quickly change which of my displays I want to use for the rare time I want it to play on a different one
gigapig Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Only benefit I get out of it is to quickly change which of my displays I want to use for the rare time I want it to play on a different one Do you do that on many games? I'm thinking that could be done on per game/driver ini.
JoyStickKilla Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Only if I want to turn one of my outside screens for vertical games. Else I just run it on my center one. This is very seldom though
