DonCorleon Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I posted this in the apps section, and upon rethinking, Decided it was better to go here. I am developing an app and I need the help of an artistic Hyperspinner to create some icons for me. Im after a set of icons for the game types avaliable at gog.com. RPG, Platformer, Point and Click, etc. I will also need some other icons made at some stage but this would be a good start. If your interested in helping out, let me know Cheers, Don
Polemicist Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Might want to post a pic or an idea of what you are thinking of for the icon. IcoFX is a pretty easy to use app for creating icons. Haven't made icons for applications before though. If you want complex stuff created from scratch I'd be buttering up Tim.
DonCorleon Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 My pathetic attempt lol Its supposed to represent Point and Click... but..... Im no artist..... PS. The genres are as follows, but im sure some of them could be combined. action adventure arcade building combat detectivemystery economic educational espionage fantasy fighting fpp << First Person view or something historical horror life managerial modern offroad platformer pinball pointandclick puzzle racing rally realtime rpg scifi shooter simulation soccer sport stealth strategy survival tactical team tpp << Third Person view or something turnbased virtual
ghutch92 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Try using google images with the size:icon parameter. Example: pointer size:icon got me this mickey glove thing See what your google-fu can get you and the post a list of everything you think you will need, so far you have rpg, point & click, & platformer. How to Install HyperSpin and more RocketLauncher HyperSpin Startup Script
DonCorleon Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Thanks Pole and Ghutch. I will thrash Google and see what i can find.....
Polemicist Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Just for interest here is my Super Meat Boy image as an icon including the image I used. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6m2yp3vfplg065x/3bF-8ocuAB The file has built into it multiple resolutions. Unfortunately when you look at my HyperSpin folder you will see that I have issues. I really have to find some other icons for these but I just never have the time. And considering it takes only a minute to make an icon from a 256x256 image with a transparent background it is kinda sad I haven't finished. Now back to screwing around with emulator documents. Oh and also you can find a LOT of inspiration at places like these http://www.iconarchive.com/popular.html
Polemicist Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yup but it has proven how easy making icons really is. You get me a 256x256 image with a transparent background or easy to cut image and I'll give you an icon in moments.
