cowbells Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I'm sure I'm not the only one that isn't trying to play super metroid on an xbox controller. After a few goes at it, I was able to beat the game with 100% in an hour and a half. With a SNES controller, I can beat it with 100% in just over an hour. There is a silver Xbox 360 controller that has a better D-Pad than the others, but I agree with most people on this thread in that the original controllers can't be beat. Also, I'm lucky enough to have retained most controllers from when I was a kid. Also, ask around! I've gotten many controllers by taking dead systems off of peoples hands. Stores won't take the dead systems, whereas I'll happily throw a few bucks for one. I took a dead SNES and had a guy make this for me: Yep, that's mine! I want to do one for all my favorite systems, then put a little computer with Hyperspin for each one. One day....
trublu289 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 How well does that perform on a Cab though?Ron and trublu you US boys find entire cabs on the side of the road or for $20 in yard sales. Lol I did just pick up two cabs and control panel for 99. Stay tuned I have a retro controller encoder in the works. Sent from my LG-P769 using Tapatalk 2

With a SNES controller, I can beat it with 100% in just over an hour. That's still impressive. My best time was 1:28 and that was years ago on the real deal. I gave up on speed running using the xbox controller, although there seems to be a LOT of really awesome tricks discovered since I did it. Also, I'm lucky enough to have retained most controllers from when I was a kid. You are lucky. I'm from New Orleans. I lost my precious collection in 2005. That is beautiful. Yep, that's mine! I want to do one for all my favorite systems, then put a little computer with Hyperspin for each one. One day.... Please write a very detailed how-to. Lastly, I also agree originals can't be beat. But I certainly stand by the Wii Classic is a surprisingly good alternative, and I like the fact that they are still in production. Walter:beerglass:

Fromlostdays Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 I should have never started this thread. Now I have to buy like ten more controllers, a bliss box, and I have to hit up yard sales. Woe. Walter:beerglass:
